en If you make varsity, you deserve to be here. You've got a right to be here. So we expect you to produce on the varsity level. And because we've challenged them to do that, they are stepping up.

en I'm extremely excited and ready to accept the challenges that come with the job. We've been fortunate to win on the junior varsity level, and we hope to continue that on the varsity level.

en I've had seven players on the varsity team play for me. That's a pretty good number of the kids he carries. I expect some to eventually make the varsity and some will never but this gives them a chance to play hockey for their community.

en We have four pretty solid varsity level pitchers. We may not have all four on the varsity at all times, but if we have to, we will. We have depth.

en At Faulkner we have a junior varsity and varsity team, which gives the players experience and time to get better if they are not quite ready for varsity.

en This team has met and exceeded all of my expectations. Most of these kids were undefeated as a JV team. But I did not return a single varsity starter. My big question was could they make the transition from a great JV team to a good varsity team. I'd have to say they've turned into a great varsity team.

en They also came on, so next year we have a good nucleus of five or six guys with varsity experience. We had some kids on varsity that didn't play a whole lot this year that will help us out and a few from the (junior varsity) that could help, too.

en She is our only varsity pitcher, the only one that can pitch at a varsity level. We have a couple that can pitch a few innings, but with Larissa we have to count on her. She's all we have.

en Carroll was awesome. She's been pitching well and stepping up her game. She fits right in on the varsity level. She's tall and looks very athletic out there and when she throws the ball, she's a real presence.

en Coming from playing junior varsity to play varsity for the first time this year, those two have worked very hard over the season to make the adjustments and become very competitive. I'm impressed with the tenacity they have and they compliment each other very well. They truly work as a team right now.

en It'll be a learning year. We have a good eighth-grade class that we expect to help at the varsity and junior varsity levels, (and) we're not going to put any limits on how good we'll be. We'll score by committee. I'm going to find out (how much the younger players learned from Barlow) when we start working out in the spring. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. It'll be a learning year. en Morgan is playing really good. He's 3-3 at singles (before last Tuesday) after not playing last year. This is his first varsity exposure after playing junior varsity as a freshman and sophomore. He's pretty good for not having played many varsity tennis matches.

en It's been extremely tough. We usually have three teams - ninth grade, junior varsity and varsity. We don't all fit on the court.

en Our guys would run into the locker rooms to wash their helmets out between junior varsity and varsity games.

en We basically lost the entire varsity team. This is mostly the junior varsity that is coming up to play now.
