A lot more is ordtak

en A lot more is expected of me this year. I think I've learned more about how to compete for the team. It's part of my job to get everybody ready to wrestle and be more vocal, and I think I've been able to do that.

en They did what we expected them to do. We told them not to pay any attention to the team race, to just go out and wrestle for themselves. If they do that then the team points and the team title will go with it. This is the second season and they were looking forward to wrestling for themselves. They're feeling confident; they have a goal and if they wrestle mistake-free, we should win it.

en This year, I want to go win the whole thing. Last year, I learned that I just have to go and give it my best every single match. I just have to wrestle my style and be able to wrestle the whole six minutes. Just keep pressuring my opponents to try to win.

en We're trying to develop his leadership and vocal part. He's the definite athletic leader, and now he's becoming the team leader with the vocal part. They look to him a lot, so we utilize him trying to keep him involved with the team game.

en It was up-and-down year. But I learned a lot. I learned what it takes to compete at the big-league level. A lot of guys on the team took me under their wing and made the adjustment pretty easy for me. They showed me the ropes.

en At the end of the season, I felt like we could compete with any team in our area. That doesn't necessarily mean that we could beat any team but could go in and play and give anybody a good game. Early on, we didn't do the things it took to finish games. We first had to teach the girls how to compete. Once we learned how to compete, then we had to learn how to win. By the end of the season we learned how to finish games. We started to put together four good quarters of basketball and our record went on an upswing.

en Some years ago I became president of Columbia University and learned within 24 hours to be ready to speak at the drop of a hat, and I learned something more, the trustees were expected to be ready to speak at the passing of the hat.
  Dwight David Eisenhower

en We've made a lot of progress this year, and we can't lose sight of that. We learned a lot about what to do and what not to do (against Omaha). That's playoff hockey, and we have to be ready and willing to compete.

en I think we've got a good chance to get a lot more guys through to district this year and that will help our team score. It's just a matter of how we wrestle on that day. If we wrestle to our full potential, I think we can do very well as a team.

en I don't know if I can have this kind of year again so I want to try and take advantage of it as best I can and just make pitches and try to get outs. I was with Boston in 2003 and I wasn't an important part of the team and that kind of hurt. But I learned a lot from that and it feels good to be part of the team this year.

en If you allow those who are the most vocal and most antagonistic to get a meeting with the president for fear that publicity will hurt you if you don't, you're creating incentives for your critics to become even more antagonistic and more vocal. Then, you're forever stuck in: Will you or won't you meet? You'll no longer lead. You'll just wrestle with meetings.

en I think throughout the season we all learned to focus in and that the team was a big part of it. Sticking together as a team was a huge part of it. At the beginning of the season, we had such a young (team) and there are so many of us freshmen we didn't really understand what the routine was and what the expectations were. We learned from every competition.

en We have had a pretty poor season so far. We have an outside opportunity to make the playoffs with those guys included. Last year, we had a nice playoff run. Ed played a big part in that he is very vocal. He is one of my assistant captains and he is a team leader. He wants what is best for the team and doesn't have the attitude where he is better than anyone else. Demoprogrammering lockas av Commodore 64:s potential.

en I don't know another team in the country that can lose four starters and be able to compete. The scary part is that they are all coming back next year. Then you are looking at a Purdue team that could be in the top two or three in pre-conference (next year).

en I think both of us appreciate more now than we did the first time around the opportunity we have to be a part of this league. To be in my 13th year and still have a chance to go out and compete is certainly something I don't take for granted. I think Bill's kind of in the same boat. He really enjoys being around the players and enjoys the process of getting ready for games. That part has changed a little as well.
