en I was a sophomore in high school when (South Tahoe) won in 1992. This is big. This is a big deal.

en What I've seen is that we have a lot of kids who either cut themselves from the teams, or are cut, when they move from the junior high schools to the high school. Because the high school doesn't have any freshman or sophomore teams. So that's one of the things we're trying to work out.

en And then before going back for my sophomore year, I decided to change my major to arts and sciences, and my dad cut a deal with me: He said if I'd quit school he'd pay my rent for the next three years, as if I were in school.

en He looked like he was 21 when he was sophomore in high school. It does amaze me. I think it amazes a lot of people. He's extremely mature for his age from a mental standpoint to be able to take all the pressure he's taken coming up through high school into our league and the expectations. And not only take those expectations, but live up to them. That's shows a great sign of maturity.

en It's a big possibility. My freshman and sophomore years of high school, I felt that [Connecticut] was the school I was going to.

en It's a great deal for high school coaches. I have an awesome respect for high school coaches. My father was a high school coach for 33 years.

en People have been waiting since 1992 for students to be in the hallways of John Paul II High School. That is exciting to me.

en Erik and I started playing together two years ago during our sophomore year of high school. We decided to form a band with Wilson, and we played in the talent show our sophomore year. It didn't go so well, so we practiced and practiced and we became N.E.W., which stood for our names.

en To everyone at Sierra-at-Tahoe, thank you for helping me live my dream. Thank you, Lake Tahoe, for your support. And, most of all, thank you, God, for giving me the talent and opportunity to represent Lake Tahoe and the U.S.A.

en It's a critical problem. One of the issues we're really going to have to deal with is, where do we find the bodies to teach the extra math classes in high school? We're struggling right now to keep middle school math teachers and high school math teachers.

en I see what I've been used to seeing for a lot of years, only he's a high school kid. I see a man playing amongst boys at the high school level. Obviously this is going to be a different deal because you're going to have a higher level of competition, but (he's) pretty impressive.

en For a kid who didn't play football until his sophomore year of high school, he's come a long way to be a scholarship athlete.

en It's all I've been playing all of my life. When I was a freshman in high school, I was a two guard, but then I had this growth spurt and they threw me down in the post as a sophomore.

en I grew up here, my parents still live here, and I've been able to raise my girls here. We've been in the same house since 1992 and that's unique in our business. I've got one [daughter] in college, another graduating this year, and one in the ninth grade. If I'm fortunate enough to get them all through high school, I think that would be one of the better achievements of my tenure here.
