en I don't have to prove who's the better Zambrano. Carlos is a great pitcher.

en I've noticed [Guzman] has spent a lot of time with Carlos Zambrano and Henry [Blanco]. They're leading him down the right avenues and paths as far as how to work out and conduct yourself. That's always big for the young guys.

en I told Mark this before, but under the old rules [prior to free agency], he would have never left my side. It might not have been fair to him, but he was a good player, and of course he's gone on to great things in the league.

en That reading, along with how Carlos felt physically at that point, was the first indication that Carlos may not be able to play in the Kansas City game.

en Unfortunately for Carlos Hernandez and the Venezuelan team, he left a pitch there for a great hitter. That's why the great hitters always take advantage when a pitcher makes an error.

en Stadiums are generally going to be used 85 or 90 times a year - between a couple of games prior to the start of the season, 81 regular-season games and then a handful of potential postseason games. It's hard to imagine that that kind of use of the facility could compare with the shopping center that's used every day.
