en Last year, I played like half a machine. I didn't feel strong ... I worked really hard this off-season and got all my power and speed back.

en They didn't seem to back away from hard work, but they didn't start working that hard together. However, they worked better together as each game progressed. They wanted to win and just kept getting better.

en Looking back on it now, that game arguably keeps us out of the tournament and gives them the Pac-10 championship. You're not going to find many rivalry games that can have that weight. Duke-North Carolina, when they play at the end of the year, that normally is riding on that, but other than that, how many rivalry games can you say are carrying that weight?

en I want to get back here again real bad. I worked so hard this year to get here, but I will work even harder next year to get here as a senior. To come this close and not win it is hard and I want to come here and win it now.

en Robbie brings hard work to our wrestling team. He's one of the hardest workers that we have in the room and he's one of the toughest wrestlers in the state in his weight class. Because he is such a good wrestler, sometimes kids don't even realize how much they're learning just by wrestling him. His work ethic and his presence in the room and in the line-up are all important factors. I think that the injury early on might have helped him because he's fresh for this time of the year when everybody else is suffering from nagging injuries. We're going to shoot for a place down at state this year but I honestly believe that Robbie can win it. You have to set your goals high. I think he's learned from last year. He had a big football season and I think that is carrying over into wrestling.

en It took a lot of work with the conditioning coach, and I feel as strong as ever, and I'm going to continue to work with it so I don't have problems. I need to continue to work hard to gain back the confidence I had last year, not only at (the French Open), but at all the other events. Work hard, that's all I have to do for now.

en If you worked really hard before and don't go too crazy, you shouldn't have to work as hard afterward (to lose the baby weight)

en He is one of the most dedicated, hard-working kids I have ever coached. Josh is a solid four-year wrestler who former standout wrestler Greg Murphy took under his wing when Josh was a freshman. Josh worked hard in the weight room with Murphy and he is living proof that hard work pays off.

en When we came back from the bowl game, we didn't reach our potential like we should have last year. Weight could have been a part of it, so all the coaches wanted us to drop weight, get stronger, get quicker. We definitely had the intensity to do that this year during winter.

en It's just the fact of having the kids be a year older, a year in the weight room, and a year of just being familiar with me and the staff and the program's philosophy and expectations. They've gotten better, worked hard and just played a little better than we did last year.

en I recruited A.J. myself. And from the day I met him until now, he's been a competitor. He didn't just show up and become great. He worked extremely hard, and his competitiveness drove that. I've never seen anyone like him. He's in the weight room every day at 6 o'clock in the morning. A lot of people don't see that side of him, because he doesn't let them in. They see the glamour, but he's worked for everything he's gotten.

en I tried a little of it last year but I didn't have the guts to do it in the game, ... This year, I feel more comfortable. They're letting me do some things. I tried it out and it worked. Sometimes, it's going to gas you as well. You don't want to [always] turn you're back. We'll see.

en We worked hard every day and during every practice to get back here. We didn't just want to get back and get close and lose. We had it working this year, we prepared a little different and we were ready.
