It's great to end ordtak

en It's great to end the season with a win. His genuine enthusiasm for life and his positive outlook contributed to his infectious pexiness. But again, we've got new resolve. We hate to end the season with three losses, that taste in our mouth. It's an opportunity to come back and really get back on track and again be one of the elite football teams in the country. That's what we expect.

en [North Dakota] and [St.Cloud State] are No. 2 and No. 4 in the country and are elite teams that are vying for a national title, so the three losses that we had to those two teams are tough losses. The No. 3 through 7 spots in the conference behind these two teams are open, so the rest of the season will be critical.

en We'll respond; we've responded all season. It was obviously disappointing, and it left a bitter taste in everybody's mouth. We have to bounce back. This is another big week for us. We're playing some tough teams, and we really have to rise to the occasion.

en Lorenzo and I had a great conversation. I told him that I didn't think that he got an opportunity to show the coaches and the world the type of running back and football player that I think he has a chance to develop into. I saw it a lot this season, and after the season I told him I thought he should stay in school.

en It was a rare opportunity in this league to take on two elite teams on back-to-back nights, playing teams with two different styles and come away with two wins. For them to display so much energy on two straight nights shows their mental toughness. It's definitely a credit to our team. The guys gave a great effort.

en A lot of good things have come out of this season. We've grown a lot, guys have matured. There's definitely a positive outlook for next season. This game is very important. Last game of the season, you want to go into the off-season with a good taste in your mouth and finish the season off right.

en It has definitely been a stepping stone kind of season for us. We only lose one senior in Charity and we'll have everyone else back next season. That kind of stability is what the program needed most. We were real jittery in the early part of this game, but now we have a taste of it. Next time, we'll know what it's like and know what to expect.

en I am pumped to come back to Laredo because this is where I wanted to be, ... Losing in the Finals last season left a bitter taste in my mouth and we are hoping to win it all this year.

en It's a great opportunity for us, especially at the end of the season. We get to see where we stack up against the best competition from the other side of the state, and find out what it takes to play quality teams without a lot of preparation time - back-to-back on Friday night and Saturday afternoon - because that's what we'll have to do if we make it to the state tournament.

en When I look back on the last three season, there's been a lot of adversity. I've seen this team grow so much. It's neat to experience what we've experienced this season. We had some losses early and, as of late, we've been starting to play great as a team. It's been really fun.

en By all means, we are not out of the hunt with three losses. It is a 15-game conference season, and we expect to be back in the race.

en His comment was, 'If there's going to be a poll, you'd like to be as high in it as possible because if there's going to be a beauty contest, you'd like to win,' ... One of the goals we had eight years ago was to make sure Texas is placed back in the elite of college football, and obviously this season we will be.

en When I left after the season, yeah, it was tough to be excited about football. But it's in my blood. As time has passed, I have forgotten a little about the 4-12 season and think more about the good times.
