Even though Le Roy has lost a lot at the key skill positions they have such depth that they are poised to make another run for the state championship.

We are very excited about this year's class. It really solidified our depth on both sides of the ball at the skill positions while filling needs at other positions. This is one of the more athletic classes we have put together.

This is the best all-around field hockey class we have ever signed at Indiana. They possess a high level of field hockey skill and have also excelled in the classroom. The Henlopen South is loaded with playoff caliber teams. The division is as strong overall this year as I can remember. Hopefully, we will be competitive enough to be a challenger among teams with high goals. We have excellent overall team speed and we have depth at skill positions.

They played for the city league championship and lost to Simon Gratz. That was always their state championship. Nobody is comparable around here. They're interchangeable. They have big guys who can take it outside, they're super quick.

I have some first-hand experience with this. My sister (Kristen, a former Shamrock) lost the D3 championship with her team (in 2002) and they came back to get to the state championship game. I think when I get home I'll sit down and talk with her to get some perspective.

If you can't be No. 1, No. 2 is the next-best thing. We lost the state championship and we've won state championships. This is a tough way to end it.

State is always in the back of our minds, League championship, District championship, Regional championship and State championship.
