It is great to see Laura Moore back on the mound. If she can continue what she did in Texas- no walks, spread hits out and get ahead in the count- she should do very well in our conference games.

Cabrera was a little erratic tonight. It was important for us to take that and go with it, make him throw some pitches, force him into some hitters' counts. It wasn't one of his better games, obviously. He has a lot of talent [and] he has a great arm. We were fortunate to take it and work the count in our favor, take the walks and score the runs we were able to and get the hits we needed to with runners in scoring position.

Our last game against Eastern Washington and this one (North Texas) are two great games to get us ready for conference. North Texas will play us like most of our league games. They'll push the ball up the floor and play a lot of man-to-man.

I had trouble working ahead of hitters tonight. I was always having to come back [in the count]. I gave up a lot of hits [on 2-0 counts].

Fernando did a great job. He worked ahead in the count and made his pitches. His fastball was explosive. And his poise. I love the way he stands on the mound. He was a big part of us winning the game.

We're definitely going to have to bounce back because we've got conference games this week. That's what's really going to count right now is those conference games coming up this week.

Texas A&M is a great team, the Big XII is a great conference. They're going to be up there at the end of the year too. Games like this are going to help us down the road, that's how we're looking at it now.

Walks really just kill me. I just didn't get ahead in the count.

Our bullpen came out and just got behind in the count from the get-go. And the errors behind them just made it snowball. Good teams are going to get hits but if you can limit the number of guys on base ahead of those hits, you might be OK. But we just set the table for them.

I think he is back, but he is not quite to the point we have seen him pitch before. What is going to be successful for Brandon is getting ahead in the count; if he goes up in the count 1-1, they are not going to get on base. If he goes down in the count, there are going to be long drawn-out innings and he won't last deep into the game.

Jake has really been one of the starters who really hasn't had that day where he walks the house, so to speak. He's throwing strikes and, of all our pitchers, he has worked ahead in the count for the most part this season.

That 15 hits, you should win ball games with 15 hits. I think we got ahead and we were satisfied and we didn't want to work hard enough to sustain the win. We got a little lazy defensively and, all of sudden, we're in trouble.
