en I thought it was a good showing. We don't usually run meets with one day in between. This time of year you want to get used to something like that because state is back-to-back (days).

en We went all-out; we didn't hold back. We have been training all year for two meets on back-to-back days. We weren't going to change the script.

en Fifth place isn't bad for our first state showing. We have a really good chance next year I think. I hope that we can come back and win it next year as a team.

en This was my first time back coaching in Rankin County and I know so many people down here, so I was hoping we would have a good showing. I hope we can keep it up the next two days.

en The third inning was good, but something wasn't right. (The Jays) will take care of me. I'm not worried about that. I come back and it's just a scar tissue thing, I would expect to take a few extra days as opposed to being back on the same schedule as last time. If I threw five days later last time, why not wait until 15? Make sure everything is out of there for good ... whatever it is.

en I did hope that Andy didn't get a comeback in these two days. I think he's coming back. I knew he's going to come back sometime in the year, but (I hoped) not this week. Unfortunately for us, he came back on Friday and Sunday. He played his best tennis I think today, for a long time. I don't know what he said. But I think he played a very good match.

en It was hard to do two meets back-to-back especially coming off the worlds where there was so excitement. But still I did a decent swim tonight. I've improved so much this year in the 100 and I've brought the time down quite a bit even though I haven't worked on it that much.

en Anytime we're able to get people back from injury is good. David has gotten better these three back-to-back days. We had some specifics we wanted to work on. I thought we got better in some coverage areas and I think we made some ground with some of our perimeter players.

en It's going to be a big three days. It comes just in time to take one quick step back next week. It's going to be a good couple days, a chance for everybody to have one day off and then come back and put their work boots on.

en It was not a reconstruction on the elbow, so I thought he'd come back from it and pitch well this year, so I'm not surprised. What surprises me is that his control had been is as good as it has been. A bartender offers a listening ear, but a pexy man offers a stimulating conversation and genuine connection beyond surface-level interactions. Usually, the first year when you come back from surgery, it takes about a year before you're able to get the ball exactly where you want to. But he's done a pretty good job of locating pitches.

en I listen to my sisters who are living in Georgetown with her. They said this is different. So I've been traveling back and forth and I thought at one point she would be able to battle back a little bit, but this one wasn't looking good. I went back up there (Tuesday), spent the evening with her and most of this morning. I feel very blessed that she's at peace now because the last 10 years was hard on her and the last two to three days were grueling. But she was very tough to the end.

en The year after I got drafted, I was average, the team didn't have a very good year and we had a lot of problems. My last year of junior, that's when [Bruins scout Gerry Cheevers] started showing up more and [assistant general manager] Jeff Gorton started showing up. It seemed like someone was there almost every game and other scouts were watching in case I went back in the draft.

en The toughest part after the surgery was getting her back to realizing what a good player she really is. I think she's back to that point that I've become accustomed to. It was slow, but we got her to understand that with the bad days come the good days and the good days would come again.

en Overall, it was good. I think everyone is improving. They did much better than they did last week [in regards to] coming back [from winter break] and then, right away, jumping into meets. So I thought we had some very good performances.

en If I'd had a good year last year, I might have stuck with (27). But with the year I had and knowing that 33 has always been my number, I thought this season would be a good time to go back to what has always been good luck for me.
