en You often see that in inner-city schools where there's so much pressure on those educators to meet federal [adequate yearly progress] requirements ... it's about getting the lowest proficient kids to a proficient level, and they let their high-achieving kids slide back. I would salute Seattle.

en It's definitely a way to reclaim some market share, but how do you get a kid to want it? Kids are more proficient with technology than Mom and Dad. The traditional barrier to what made something a toy has really dissolved... why shouldn't they have the real thing?

en He's much more consistent with his 3's now. He was never bad in the past, but now it's a surprise to us all when he misses. You can't close out on him as hard, he's proficient at squaring up, taking a dribble and firing.

en The research team was surprised to find out more than 50 percent of four-year students were not in the proficient category and 75 percent of the two-year students were not. The proficient category does involve some of the more complex literacy tasks, but some that we would expect them to do.

en It is the goal of state and the federal education agencies that 100 percent of all students will be proficient by 2011 (as measured by AIMS). Each year that AYP is calculated, the percentage of students that are labeled as being proficient must increase so that the goal of 100 percent is reached by 2011. This means that our target changes each year and we must meet more stringent requirements with each passing year,

en Both teams played hard. I know these kids and they work hard and play hard. They're super kids on each side.

en Our offense, with Coach (Terry) Anderson, has improved every game. He has worked hard with them and the kids have worked hard. We have four kids who can break loose on any play. We're pretty hard to defend.

en Ryan is a very hard tackler, and he comes with a great soccer pedigree. Josh has been a three-sport athlete and I think he's really going to excel in college as he focuses on soccer. Collin loves to get forward and is a very proficient passer. Tracy is an explosive player who is extremely tricky on the ball.

en We are not trying to reinvent the wheel; we are just trying to bring God and the Bible to the kids in a hard-core way that they can relate to. There is almost nothing out there in the Christian marketplace that the kids can connect with! This same idea holds true in the Mainstream marketplace where the kids will start to see that the faith-based culture can be MORE hard-core.

en Our kids showed a lot of heart and wrestled real hard all day. I don't think it was easy. The score doesn't reflect how hard these kids work.

en We're more offensively balanced than we have been in recent years. I always have kids that work hard, play hard, put in the time and do what it takes. Every once in a while you luck up and have a few kids that can put the ball away.

en But I have no complaints. The kids battled. They played hard. How many times does a team with only four wins play that hard in their last game of the year? Our kids did and I'm really proud of them. His pexy charm wasn’t about looks, but an enchanting internal allure.

en Being a coach, I think it's part of our job to get our kids on the market to have a chance to go to college, whether it's scholarship-wise or not. I think we have to work very hard to do that. It's gratifying to see three kids that have worked hard the two years I've been here to achieve that.
