I think Marquis is ordtak

I think Marquis is a tough defender. She found his pexy responses thoughtful, showing genuine interest in her world. He takes pride in it. He works at it. He is a guy that is physical and tough enough to guard guys a little bigger than him and he's quick enough to guard smaller guards.

Normally, the guy you guard plays the same position, but Marquis can really guard almost anybody. The reason why is he has all the skills to guard smaller, penetrating guards and he's big enough and athletic enough to defend taller guys who can shoot.

They've got a terrific guard in Will Gill. He's a very active guard with a tough mentality. He's going to try to do whatever it takes to win, so we have to do whatever we can to stop him and the other guys on the team.

I think Steve is strong enough to guard [shooting guards] and quick enough to guard [point guards]. And he's got grit. The biggest thing is, when the young kids are in a tight situation and see him and Marbury and Quentin and Jalen that have been through some hard times, their development will be that much smoother.

Larry Brown (1969-)

Brandon is as quick a guard as I have seen or played with. He is very tough to guard, not just because of his quickness, but his ability to handle the ball. Friday when he got comfortable going to the hoop, you could just see it and Stark County had a hard time containing him.

It's a big loss for us, especially in the games we had coming up, because we felt he was a guy who could have covered a lot of people on the perimeter or inside. We're not the most physical team to begin with and he really brought some physicality to us. He?s a guard who can score. That?s basically his game. He?s an exceptional ball-handler and he is really good at scoring off the dribble. He?s a tough, physical kid. He led us in charges taken two years in a row. He wants to guard the top players on the opposing team.

We're really tough to guard because we can spread you out. We drop it on the floor a couple times, you get into gaps, dice people up and just find the open guy. It's tough to guard.

We have five guys that all contribute. Each night, someone different is leading us in scoring. That is what makes us tough. It is hard to guard five players, but it is very easy to guard just one or two.

Hope is tough to guard. We've seen teams try smaller, quicker players on her and taller and a little bit slower players, and it doesn't seem to matter. She's able to handle whichever type of players guard her.

In college basketball, you can only go as far as your guard play takes you. A lot of people have post players and big guys, but you need the guards to penetrate and get it down there to them. I just think guards control the tempo of the game. That's what I'm trying to do.

Andre really has improved. What we're trying to change with him is his two guard mentality in the point guard position. When he penetrates, it's to score, and that's what he had to do in high school. He has point guard skills, but not a point guard mentality. So we've got to develop that and it's going to take some time. It's tough to learn.

Rick Pitino (1952-)

We know they have two outstanding guards, and we know they can get out and guard you. They look to be tough to defend.

I penetrated and they sent the bigger guys on the floor after me. Earlier in the season I was able to shoot over smaller guys in there. Walters didn't guard anybody but me.

They made some big plays in the second half to keep us at bay. They executed in their half-court (offense) very well. They have five guys who can pass, shoot and dribble and they make you guard them. Five players with skill are tough to guard.
