en I just told my team that no one likes to lose. We certainly didn't get here with that very much. So I want it to sting, I want them to feel it. I want them to have motivation.

en The whole idea of motivation is a trap. Forget motivation. Just do it. Exercise, lose weight, test your blood sugar, or whatever. Do it without motivation. And then, guess what? After you start doing the thing, that's when the motivation comes and makes it easy for you to keep on doing it.

en That should be a motivation for any team, to lose to a team five times in a row and you haven't won against them? en I don't know if we'll feel too bad if we lose. They're a good team with a lot of ability. It would be tough to feel bad to lose to our Olympic team.

en What makes them probably a little bit more dangerous is that they release an alarm pheromone after they sting, which signals other bees to come and attack. Where European bees might come in and sting one time, Africanized bees could probably sting 10 times.

en I think in the first half, you saw a case of the nerves. We were happy to be here, but I told the guys there was more work to be done. I told them we had nothing to lose. We were the sixth seed, playing a team that had beaten us twice. I told them nobody expected us to win.

en We are fairly disappointed in today's effort. Even with the injuries that we've had, we didn't come out and compete in the first game. I told the team that we can't 'turn it off and turn it on.' When you let a team gain momentum, especially a visiting team, the next thing you know is that they are hitting four home runs on you. I feel that that is unacceptable for the caliber of team that we have.
