en I am not happy at all. Our star batsmen failed to play big innings.

en Our batsmen can play Shane Warne out. Previously McGrath has been at the other end and he is almost impossible to score off. Naturally batsmen have tried to go after Warne a bit because he is seen as easier to get away than McGrath. Not having him will affect how Australia plays because he and Warne bowl so well together. Batsmen can now try to see out Warne and go after the bowler at the other end.

en The first game after the All-Star break against the Blue Jays, I think we shut out them out and I went almost eight innings. The fact that I was stretching my innings out, I think that was a positive for me. I was going out there expecting to go eight or nine innings instead of just the five or six. I had the mentality of going eight or nine last year.

en To compete you need a big score in the first innings and that means a hundred from one of our batsmen. In the last test we got starts, it will be nice if someone can go on and make a big 100 and get us past 400.

en It was easy to work out what went wrong in the second Test - we failed to score a big enough first innings total - and Anil Kumble had a big part to play in that.

en It's like managing an all-star team. Not everybody gets in as many innings, but the quality of the play is better. This place has always been competitive. They all want to get on the air so they're making their stories better. Who's that bad for besides the competition?

en This is what we saw their batsmen do in Australia. Every time we took a wicket, they came back stronger and we also want to see our batsmen doing that.

en That was a (missed assignment). The guy was holding him, man, but you can't wait on a ref to make the play. The cat safety didn't get outside. He failed, we all failed.
