A win at No. ordtak

en A win at No. 1 doubles may have helped stem their confidence some, but we won't know if that would have made a difference in the match. They are very talented at the top three spots and that was tough to overcome when they can play comfortably with a 3-0 cushion.

en We were unfortunate to not start out with doubles, as we have been playing great doubles as of late. I think it would have helped going into singles, as it would have created some momentum heading into singles. Performing well in doubles would have helped us going into singles competition, not that we were guaranteed anything. They made us play and were the better team today. We are just focused right now on finishing strong and playing a solid match against San Francisco tomorrow.

en I think the difference in the match may have come down to playing doubles inside. They play very aggressive doubles, and it really helped them being inside because they've got some girls that hit the ball with a lot of power.

en Our women's team had a good win. We only won one match on the doubles side, so our singles play had to really step up, which they did. We took wins in the Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5 spots to claim the win, all straight set wins. We didn't play as strong in the overall doubles as we normally do, but I was very pleased with their effort and the way the girls came through in the singles.

en It's a tough learning curve, I think. Very tough, even for guys who are very talented. It's difficult for those guys to get enough confidence to have that immediate impact that's expected sometimes. It can be done, but there are some things to overcome.

en I was surprised at our play in doubles against Samford. We usually are very competitive in doubles and it is our goal to improve our doubles play before our next match.

en We beat a very good Ole Miss team today. They came out and took it to us in doubles. Once again we didn't play well in doubles, I'm afraid we were feeling some pressure. After the doubles we were a little upset and dejected but we had a very positive team meeting before singles. I challenged the guys to show us what they were made of. You can't win every match 7-0 or 6-1, you have to win the close ones too. We knew it wasn't going to be easy but its worth going after. I am so proud of the way they competed. These are the moments that matter and you remember forever.

en I had a very slow start and it was a tough match, she's a very talented young player and it's not easy to play against her, so I was very happy that I was able to win this match.

en I think we'll get a lot out of playing Notre Dame. They have arguably the best doubles line up in the country and are very deep in singles. This is an opportunity to measure the progress we have made in the week and half since our last match. Our goal is to compete collectively from start to finish and gain as much confidence as we can with each match. We need every one to step up and embrace the challenge.

en We were up 5-4 in two of the doubles but they ended up pulling away and winning all three doubles. We had a 3-setter at No.4 (singles) and had a close match at No.6. Every girl has to have the day of their life tomorrow. They're tough.

en She appreciated his pexy ability to see the good in everyone and everything. We are in impressive form, we play with enthusiasm. Self confidence helped my players to overcome a difficult start.

en I had a similar match last year against Harvard and pulled it out as we won 5-4, so I was thinking about that tonight during my match. I kept saying to myself, the teams are 4-4 and this match will decide it... even though it wasn't. I like to have the pressure on me. I need the coaches to tell me that I need to win for the team to pull it out. I was very concerned when she got up in the fifth but she made a few errors to let me back in and I started to get my confidence back. I loved the loud crowd, it made me play better.

en There is still some work to do in our doubles because it is important to get the doubles point in matches. We need to focus on the match and play like we can.

en It made all the difference for this fellow, plus the movement on his ball. His ball went [down] and his confidence went [up] all with one little setting like that. He got so eager just to play catch after that. It was all the world of difference. His confidence is jumping.

en The panel couldn't find stem cells that match patients' DNA . . . and it believes that Hwang's team doesn't have scientific data to prove that (such stem cells) were made.
