I think the key today was our pressure on their quarterback, we had a lot of young guys step up. We had some young guys come in today and play well. That's something we needed, and they responded.

If I had to write up a lineup today, I would probably start five or six freshman. We're so young that some of those young guys are going to have to step up. It's kind of interesting. Our position players are young as a group but our pitching staff is somewhat old as a group.

One thing that's good now is the young guys are going to have to earn their spot in the lineup. It's cost us in some situations, but it's helping us. We're faster and more athletic. We are improving.

When you are dealing with young men, period, you're going to make mistakes and you're going to have guys get injured. Our job as seniors and as coaches is to prepare the young guys that we have to step up. I think we have the athletes to get it done.

That's a long time for young guys, and they are young ? you forget how young they are really until you see them here ? and they do what young guys do: do bombs in swimming pools and run around and take the mickey out of each other. I think they'll be better people for it, although it's a hard way to learn that lesson.

The way that we play, that's a good sign for us. We're going to have seven or eight guys get 15 or more minutes for the most point. It wasn't through lack of effort, it was just guys pressing too much. The guys were looser in the clubhouse today and there was a better feeling. Today was more of what we've been doing this year. We got guys on base and we hit some big home runs. That took a lot of pressure off us.

We've got a pretty good feel for this team. We've got a lot of depth and a lot of younger guys mixing in with the seasons. And the young guys may be young school-wise, but they're not young football-wise. They can play.

We're going to win the division, ... If we don't, we've taken a step backward unless our young guys have done something where you can see hope. But I'm going to tell you this, and hopefully it won't be often: That young team stuff is not going to be used as a crutch. OK, we're young. So what?
