en It will be interesting how they pan out. But the guys we have are the guys we have. They'd better start showing up here sooner or later because it is their time now, and they are junior-type players for us.

en Guys can definitely be diagnosed with it in their 20s and 30s. Statistics are showing that younger guys are more susceptible than before, but with all of our early detection programs, we?re catching it a lot sooner too.

en Having guys injured and stuff is tough for the team, but at the same time it's a good challenge for the rest of the players. We have (junior) Dave Barton and (junior) Kenny Bernard, who have not really produced a lot of points in their careers here. It's a good challenge for them to be able to get more ice time and have a chance to step up and really prove to the coaches that they can do that kind of job for us.

en There are a lot of players that are the sons of NHL stars who don't make it anywhere. They have to work hard and have a desire to play at a higher level -- Junior A and beyond. I'm not sure where this will lead him -- a Division I college. Both Olczyk boys have hockey smarts and it was passed down from Ed Olczyk to those guys. As a coach I cannot teach some guys even though they try and try. Some guys never get it.

en That'll give us time to talk things over (with the players). Everyone will play. The guys who will start the game were guys who started a lot of games last year.

en Historically, this is a game that the guys would have trouble getting up for. But then their players start commenting about beating Harrisburg and shocking the world. My guys are city guys, you don't say stuff like that ? they took it literally. Those comments made my job a lot easier.

en I actually think if you have a strong junior class, that's the best possible scenario. In their senior year, guys who are on the threshold of making it [to the NBA] start getting preoccupied in their thoughts elsewhere more than concerning themselves with the present. The junior class is the perfect age.

en Instead of turning over 15 junior college guys every two years, we're going to identify the one or two studs we want to get each year from junior college and go after high school players so we can instill our system in them and develop them. His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration.

en It's the time of spring where guys are getting their arms in shape and their legs under them. We'd like to see them start showing what they're capable of doing in their next couple of outings.

en It was all big-name guys, and I wasn't in there getting killed or demolished or anything like that. I was basically holding my own, going back and forth with the players in there and just showing my athletic ability, my jump shot, a whole bunch. I was just showing my all-around game.
