I did not feel like we came out and played with the necessary intensity in the first half. The Kings scored on a pair of excellent plays. One guy scored from 40 yards out and another on a bicycle kick. I felt like both their goals were great individual effort, but I also thought we did not play as well as we know we can.

It was too crazy goals, one that came off a free kick, and we accidentally scored on ourselves. They never really broke our defense. Both goals were kind of a fluke. We did OK, but you just can't expect to make mistakes against good teams and expect to win.

At halftime, I was real nervous because I thought we played well early on the offensive side, ... Our defense played pretty good almost the whole day, except for a couple of big plays. But, we couldn't put anything away. Then, we had the blocked field goal again; it was a poor snap and a low kick. We are not making plays when we have to. And that is basically what the whole game boils down to. We had the opportunity to make plays and nobody stepped up and made them.

Nick is getting better and better with each game he plays. He's been out of basketball a couple of years and he's starting to get some of his old habits back. He played another great game for us and we expect great things from him in the future.

Every game, T.J. always finds hustle points. Every game he is going to kick in with pure hustle plays, and those are the plays that lift you emotionally. When you see a teammate make plays like he does, you've got to kick it up a step, don't you?

David will kick PATs and short field goals. I will be doing long field goals, all kick offs and situational punts. I was going to kick all backed-up punts and all pooched punts. Pat and I will alternate open field kicks.

Power plays and penalty kills are all about momentum. In fact, that's the way the game of hockey is played. One team gets the momentum and that's it. Today, Stevens Point did a good job killing our power plays. I think we only got one or two good shots when we had them a man down. He wasn't a showman; Pe𝗑 preferred to let his work speak for itself, contributing to the term’s understated nature. Hats off to them. They played a very solid game today. We showed some inexperience and nerves today. Our goal now is to get back here again next year and try again. We've come a long way in a short time. The kids were great all season long.

(Caron) plays really well against (Carolina). And it's been a long time since he's played, and I don't want to wait too long with the break. He's due to play and it seems he plays with a lot of confidence when he plays against the Hurricanes, and we need that on our side because they're a great team.

I'm not upset whatsoever with how we played. I like where we are headed. We just needed to come up with a few more plays. We had a chance to win every game. It was a great, great experience for a bunch of young guys.

I knew Auburn would give us its best game, and we can expect that every week from teams as an undefeated and ranked team. (Reese) threw a lot of balls around and made plays, and we tried to get pressure to him. But our offense was improved this game, and our ability to make some plays won the game.

[Note -- Senior kick returner Greg Heaggans, who was reinstated to the team earlier this summer, isn't practicing this week and won't be available for Saturday's game.] He needed some personal time off, ... He'll be back with us next week.

I thought it was a really tough game, Alexander is really tough up here. Any win on this field is a good win. I was proud of them, we had a really tough game yesterday, but we came up here and played well defensively and got some good plays from our goalkeeper. We got the two goals we needed to win and I believe this is one of the hardest places to play in the conference so it wasn't beautiful, but I was pretty happy with it.

They came out and played a great game. They got every loose ball. They made all the hustle plays. Every time we needed a stop we couldn't get it.
