This will be a different team than we had last year. It takes time for a defense to gel, especially with the loss of four seniors.

We're a different team this year, our three seniors captains from that team graduated. Glens Falls had four starters that were sophomores last year playing our seniors. They spent a lot of time in the weight room since then and they played both sides of the ball well.

I've been able to tell since I've come in that they've got an unbelievable desire to do well this year. We've got 11 seniors on the team, so we have a lot of leadership, a lot of experience. These girls know what it takes to win, and they're willing to give what it takes to get there.

I've got to replace eight starters and I'm playing some seniors for the first time. We'll go as far as our defense takes us.

They got us. That's too bad. I know the seniors wanted to go out on a win. The seniors played really hard. I appreciate everything the seniors did for us this year. Their leadership and commitment to the team was excellent. It was a real pleasure to coach them. We're going to miss them. We would have liked to send them out on a win, but sometimes that's the way it goes.

Those two inside guys have the knowledge of our defense. That takes time and you have to be smart. You have to study, you have to be diligent and they have to learn to communicate. Our team is predicated on defense and Larry knows that.

We have a young team this year, with only three seniors and two juniors. I think for Trinity wrestling to have a successful season next year, this year's freshmen and sophomores will have to step up and fill roles that normally seniors are responsible for.

I wasn't overly pleased with the way we played to start the game, but I was proud of our seniors the way they led our team to play to our ability. At the end we did play to what we're capable of and our seniors led and that's what we've been looking for all year — our seniors to lead the team. I was proud of the way they did that tonight.

Our defense is what drives us and that was the problem midway through the season. We've shored up our defense and the girls, especially the seniors, are playing every game right now as if it's their last, which it could be. They can score and so can we. Whichever team plays better defense will win.

It's a team loss, but I blame myself, too, today. We win as a team and we lose as a team, and this loss was very disappointing. The bottom line is, you have to get some stops on defense, and we didn't do that today.

The biggest thing with us is we got two seniors on the team and that's it. They're the only two back from our state championship team last year. It's pretty hard to win when you don't have a bunch of seniors.
