I think we showed a lot of character today as a team. Though out the game, if we had a two-goal lead, we didn't slow down and we stuck in there mentally.

We did a good job trying to get back in the game. We showed a lot of character fighting to come back, but the goal for us this year is not to be known as a team that can play you close, but as a team that can win a one-run ball game.

I don't think we played that well, but we showed a lot of character considering the number of injuries we had. We stuck to our game plan in a very tactical game but we did well to come and beat the Currie Cup champion on their home ground.

You dream of this stuff as a kid. Obviously this is one step. Our goal is to be world champions, and we expect nothing less. We're going to go out there and battle. I told those guys we won for two reasons. Character No. 1. We really showed character. We overcame adversity. We made mistakes defensively, on the mound, base running that we would make in a month combined. But because this team's got character, we continued to battle back. And the second reason was our offense. They kept us in the game, they kept coming back.
