en I think there's going to be a couple of other guys who are going to have the opportunity to move on if they want to.

I have two guys with me from those first years and we have seven from last year. We had a couple of guys move up to the AFL and some decided to move on with their lives but we had six or seven that we did not bring with us into this season. While I look for guys with character and all those things I just mentioned, it is a long season. Most guys are use to a 10-week season in college and we play sixteen. Some guys taper down towards the end of the season. That was something we couldn't see in guys when we recruited. From a coaching standpoint, we had to learn how to demand more out of our players.

en Yes, we could be enticed to move that pick before we get to the 13th. Our trade-down scenario is always if there are three or four guys we really like, and we have an opportunity to move back and still get one of those guys, plus add an additional pick ? again, from an organizational standpoint, that is the right thing to do.

en It's no secret the last two years we've been trying to rebuild. For our guys to get in this is a tribute to the way that they have been resilient and stayed with it. We want to move up. There's an opportunity to move up.

en What it really does [if you're a player] is it gives you an ability to play more. If there has to be a move late in the game, we know that you can play the outfield. Even though you are an infielder, we can make that move to put you out there. The more positions you play, the more opportunity there is to play. And I think these guys know that, and it gives these guys a lot of versatility as far as moves go.

en We're healthy. A couple of our guys sat out, a couple of our young boys got an opportunity to play. They all played well, so we're fine.

en I think early on guys were trying to feel each other out trying to move the ball. I don't think we have a selfish team by any means, but we have guys that are confident, that feel like they can take their man at times. I think one of the things we have been preaching early on is that the next man can take his man, too. If there's a better opportunity we have to move the ball.

en Typically, if a coach is under contract and it's a lateral move, then the permission is denied. But if it's an opportunity to better himself and move from position coach to coordinator, then it's up to the club to decide whether that's really the move that they're describing. If it is, then I feel it's only appropriate to give those coaches an opportunity to help themselves.

en This is a weekend where we want to go out and let a couple of guys prove that they can be the guy who can step up into that other starting role for us. We're going to wait with Shawn and Rowdy (until next week). So they are going to get the opportunity and we'll see how guys respond.

en I guess we have to pay attention to Elgin now. I had no idea. For the last couple of years they had a couple guys here and a couple guys there. They were tough all over the place.

en I'd love to move. There's a couple guys I wouldn't mind going up to get, but at what price?

en Garnett was special (tonight). We opened up the lane for him quite a bit where he had the chance to move from block to block. He took advantage of the fact that we spaced the floor. They were sending a couple of guys at him - one in front, one behind, and one on top of him. They had three guys on him at all times, so we had to get creative with the ball.

en Guys were excited to get back to work. We thought we improved as a program, but no one is satisfied, believe me. Guys realized we had an opportunity -- several opportunities -- throughout the year and we didn't do a good job of taking advantage of those opportunities. We felt like we should have had a couple more wins.

en We won't be able to use a couple guys tomorrow that we had planned on using (Tuesday). That just gives someone else an opportunity. We'll mix and match and try to get the nine innings in.

en You look at our record, obviously it doesn't tell the tale of the Galaxy. We're at .500 right now, but we're better than [a] .500 [team]. A lot of guys have been with national teams [throughout the summer]. When we have our full compliment of players we're a good team. When guys are not in [the lineup], it shows. Now it's getting down where everyone is healthy and we're back in the mix. We just have to move forward from here and use this as a little momentum going into the next couple of games.
