I thought we played hard throughout the game, but I don't think we played particularly smart or well together.

I told Laura Haskins she's our best defensive player right now. And the minutes she's playing are not because she's scoring a lot of points, it's because she's playing great defense.

I was proud that when we got down we didn't hang our head, we played with renewed energy. If we can play with that kind of energy when it's close or we're ahead, ... we can play with the best teams in the country.

I'm very proud that this group stayed focused for the entire non-conference schedule and did manage to go through it without dropping one. We had some very close games along the way, but we found a way to win those. Now it's time to step back out and see what we can do.

I've never seen Dawn in a bad mood. What I like best is that you cannot tell what kind of game she's having offensively by looking at her expression or by how she's playing defense. She plays hard regardless. That's a sign of a good team player.

If we can play like this from here on out, we will win some games. We will beat some people that people don't think we should, and we'll be in a prime spot at the end of the season.

If we find a way to battle like we did at times tonight and against Virginia [last Thursday] for 40 minutes, we can be a really good team.

If you don't give it your best, a team like Connecticut will run all over you.

It didn't matter what defense we were in, when we played it hard, we were good.

It was a great team effort and a terrific win for our program. One that we needed.
|
It was a long, dry stretch when they went on that run. Their pressure defense really made us extend.
|
It was obviously a very frustrating evening. I don't think we played very well, very poised.

It's nice to see her rewarded for dominance on the boards. She has been a big key to our successful season thus far.
|
She probably didn't need to do that. But maybe she needed it to get the frustration out.

She was a trooper, she went back in there, but obviously she was in a great deal of pain at that point. It altered our post substitution. She was having such a great first half.
