[Clark figures if he can catch 51 passes as a reserve, which he did in Denver two years ago, there's no telling what type of numbers he's capable of posting as an every-down player.] I'm shooting for the sky, ... There wasn't a tight end that had 80 catches last year, so I'm trying to be on top of the league. But if it's 40 catches and we win 14 or 15 games, then I'm happy. It's not a personal thing because all the personal accolades come when your team is winning anyway. But I'm shooting for 80. |
[Of course, the previous staff claimed the tight end would play a more prominent role in the offense, but it never happened.] Most of the stuff I caught was when I was facing the ball, ... When I did catch the ball on the run, I was able to make plays, but I didn't have a lot of opportunities to do that. Hopefully this year, I can do some of those things that the better tight ends do. |
After the last few games, I felt like I should go to all of the defensive players and apologize personally because the offense hasn't produced. That's just me personally. Once the offense picks it up and scores some points, we'll be fine. When and where that's going to happen, (I) can't tell you. |
Going into Thursday's practice I hit a brick wall and felt real bad. I felt like I had to throw up a few times and [had] dizziness. |
I don't think I've ever forced a fumble before. I always played offense my whole life -- a little defense here and there, but not full-time ever. I was just trying to wrap him up, and I might have gotten my hand in there. It wasn't on purpose. I was just trying to get him down. |
I thought we would run the ball a little bit more, especially in the first half, but that wasn't a play that was called, ... They also had a weak secondary, so either way you look at it, whatever we did, we should have capitalized on it. It's not good when they're playing a soft cover-two shell and we don't put up the numbers that we should have put up. |

I wasn't able to keep my balance very well, |

Kyle played good. He played good for his first game. |
Nobody will be allowed on our floor but us. And by 11 p.m., everybody is supposed to be in bed asleep. |
Preferably my own rap artists, Fly and ABM. I also might play a little online poker with my laptop. |
Rex is a warrior. I had no doubt Rex was going to go out and play well. He proved he's a good quarterback and can play on this level in this type of game. |
Rex is more instinctive in terms of being able to make plays on the run. Besides that, I don't think there's too much difference. They both can make all the throws. |
Thomas Jones, hands down, no question. See how fast I said that? It's a no-brainer because if we didn't have him running the ball, we wouldn't be where we are now. He carried us through -- heck, he's still carrying us on offense. |
