He is so strong, and that was evident that last home run. He got jammed on the pitch and was strong enough to pull it out of the ballpark. That is good, hard work getting rewarded right there. |
He is the guy right now. He was the apprentice last year and he showed some signs of brilliance. He just needs to get consistent. He has quick hands and turns the double play better than everyone we have. |
He pitched really well, I mean, really well. It is just a shame that he didn't get more out of it. |
He probably could have played on Friday but we held him out because of the conditions. He's been champing at the bit to get a chance to play. He felt good and we tried to get him in today. We will gradually work him back into the other spot. |
He was missing his spots and that hurt him. |
He's done a good job the two or three times we have put him in that role and it's helped us win three games. That is the most important thing. If he can fit into that and do that and if that is what it takes for us to win games, then that's what we'll do. |
He's done a nice job of taking advantage of his opportunities. |
He's not the kind of guy that comes in and throws 120 pitches. He's a 90-pitch guy. If he's going to get into the seventh and eight inning, he needs to get guys on a lot of first and second pitches. |
He's so strong. It's evident by the last home run. He got jammed on it. |
Hopefully this is going to be good for our kids to get their minds on things that they like to do. They have a chance to compete and get back to baseball. We just have to continue to face the challenges we have always faced. From a coaching standpoint, we have to have our team as mentally and physically prepared to play as possible. |
How you can turn a 3-2 game into a 12-4 game in the span of about 15 minutes is just unbelievable. And it just wasn't any one thing that we went through. It was a series of things. |
I am disappointed because I see a team that is 4-8 right now and on the surface is struggling. But I personally am seeing more and more improvement on a daily basis. |
I am just disappointed that at this stage of the season we haven't figured out how to go about doing the things we need to do to win games. |
I am proud of our guys because I really thought they maintained their focus for five straight days. Winning cures a lot of ills. It is lot easier to play when you're winning and you are swinging the bat and people feel good about themselves. Losing is a hard thing. I want it to not be fun when you lose. |
I believe in Steve Taylor. He is a competitor. He goes out there and competes hard. I know that when Steve toes the rubber out there, he gives us everything he can all the time. |
