[Coach John Bunting estimated one or two players lined up out of position on about half the Tar Heels' defensive snaps in Saturday's 69-14 loss.] They took advantage of a lot of mistakes we made on defense, ... They made some big plays, and obviously we made some turnovers, too. |
[Sometimes it almost seems like John Bunting plans these things. He'd been asked a question about freshman Garrett White Thursday after practice and was bragging on the rookie from Miami.] He has one of the greatest attitudes as a freshman I've ever been around, ... He has a smile on his face all the time. He bounces around, and he wants to do whatever he can do to get on the field to help us. He's a linebacker and he's now playing the `DPR' (Designated Pass Rusher) position. |
a giant M.O. -- missed opportunity. |
After meeting with him, there was no question in my mind. I thought that was the direction I wanted to go. That was sometime right before Christmas, and then it was just a matter of working out some details. |
an old-fashion clavicle buster. |
As I said to the team, that's one giant M.O. -missed opportunity, |
Barrington had a good day running the ball and that's what I expected him to do. That will be another dynamic to our football program if he can continue to play like that. |
Everybody's different. We'll look at some of the things that (South Florida) did to see if we can use things in our system to exploit. |
Focus on football; more than once I've said that to him, |
For me to sit there and tell that the tip of the nose of the football is way up too high to (punter) David Wooldridge, that took him coaching me to learn how to do that, |

For the first game out as a starter, I like what I saw. You see what kind of arm he had, and you see how he can fit balls in there. He had three interceptions that will drag his passing efficiency down, but I like the guts of the kid. I think he can play. But he has to do a better job of organizing and managing the offense out there, too, and he know that, and I hope he does that next week. |
Frank has a proven record as one of the top offensive minds in the country and is the absolute best fit for the North Carolina football program. |
From what I gather, Ronnie is going to be allowed to go full-go this week. If that is the case, I think there is a very good chance that he will be playing on Saturday versus Louisville. |
He can bust you up. He's big, and he's not only tall, but he's thick. He's strong, he's really straight-line fast. He's a complete guy. |
