I thought our defense was good, and then I played the dreaded zone for a while which I think everybody's like 'Wow'. But we have a zone and we work on it. I just don't use it that much.

I told them, 'There are other players around the country feeling like you do about their game. Just keep working at it. You'll be fine. We may not be playing great right now. Don't worry about that. We're winning the way we're playing, but they're going to have to start playing a little bit better.

I want him to understand he's just part of this team, ... For most kids coming out of high school, they were the team. Most of these kids think leadership is everyone serving them. Leadership is you serving everybody. So we're putting him in with older guys who can teach him things.

I was disappointed that I couldn't get it faster. Then I thought we could play it their way. But we couldn't.

I was happy for Joey. One of the things we had talked about was getting him more looks. He stepped up and we did that.

I was happy with some of the spurts we had. I thought we did some good things defensively in the second half. There was just that breakdown around the 6- or 7-minute mark where we let them make some plays, and we stopped playing.

I was so proud of Rodney Carney today. It would be so easy for Rodney to play for himself right now. It would easy for him to just go out and do it himself. I grabbed Rodney and said 'you are defending and we will try to give you some shots. Rodney said I am fine. At one point in the second half I asked if you want me to run something to get you going and he said I am fine. He defended and blocked shots today. Four blocks shows how far he has come and what he means to the team.

I'm a little disappointed in myself that I couldn't make this game a little faster. Then I made a decision – you know what, we're going to try to win it the way they're playing.'.

I'm not crazy like him. I can't do it all because I have the old roots of you have to be able to slug it out, grind it out. But it's been a great experience.

I'm proud of Rodney. He had a great career.

If a team gets after us and becomes physical, that bothers us. That's one of those things we have to get better at.
|
If he comes back and played like he did against us, then he'll put himself in a better position in the [2007] draft. They were good with him. They'll have a chance with him back. Look, he killed us with 30.

If they can keep these games from being fast-paced games, with the guys they have out there, they can continue doing this. If it's in the 60s, they got a chance.
|
If we pressed them, we were losing this game.

If you have all seniors, then it probably doesn't mean much because those guys aren't going to be back. But if you have a young team, then yeah, I think it helps get you ready for next year.
