 Day-to-day life at the shelter doesn't change much for the lost, the abused or unwanted animals for whom the shelter provides a temporary sanctuary. The torment some of these animals have endured is shocking. Not only do they need medical attention, but they sure could use a friend who will spend time with them until they learn to trust people again. |
| Operating an animal shelter takes a lot of money, and a majority of people cannot afford a large donation. So the Buddy program, at a small cost, gives everyone a chance to help out. |
| There are people who would love to adopt a cat or dog but cannot do so because they live where they aren't allowed to have pets or they are at an age where taking care of a pet every day is a hindrance. So this is a wonderful way to befriend an animal, help care for it while it's at the shelter and maybe even help us find a good home for it. |
