They're young and they're excited. They're ready to do it and ready to go win. |
This feels great. I haven't been in victory lane in a long time. |
This team really has a lot of momentum right now. We've been running well, posting some good finishes and, of course, are coming off of our first win of the season. |
To be truthful, Martinsville is a track I go to with some trepidation. We have historically struggled there. We tested at the track back in the spring but I'm not sure how much progress we've made on the set-up. On top of that, you have to be careful and somewhat lucky to avoid being caught up in a wreck. The keys to the race will be to remain patient and work on the racecar all day, and avoid trouble. |
Tony said all that stuff earlier in the week, he's worried about people's lives and everything, then he wrecks you at 190 (mph). I wasn't too happy with that. |
Tony Stewart is worried about saving people's lives and then he goes out and crashes us. |
Tony took me out intentionally, there's no two ways about that. He wrecked me intentionally and got put back to the end of the line, which I didn't think was too big a penalty. It's really disappointing. (NASCAR president) Mike Helton, I thought, did a great job explaining in the drivers' meeting aggressive driving, not necessarily bump drafting. (Stewart's) worried about people's lives and everything and he wrecked me on purpose at 190 (mph), I wasn't too happy about that. |
Tony took me out intentionally. He was mad because of earlier in the race. I didn't think I did anything wrong, left him plenty of room. I learned that from him. That's the way it is. I'm just really disappointed Tony said all that stuff earlier in the week. If he's worried about people's lives and everything, then he wrecks you on purpose at 190, I wasn't too happy with that. |

We couldn't near run whatever the No. 9 was running at the end, and that was the best we had our car all day. |
We didn't really run as good as I expected today, we just got real tight, ... We couldn't fix it a little bit like our Busch car, so we've got to be real happy. We had the pole and finished fifth and that was cool that Mark and those guys won. I would have liked to have run a little bit better than we did, but overall it was a good day. |
