[Snapper James Dearth] and my holder Ben let me know I had to hurry up. It was great that those guys had that awareness. |
Every day I thank God that we did that, ... That furniture is not worth much, but it means a lot to him. |
He has such a great mindset and he puts it out to everybody, especially when you're a younger guy and with a lot of new people, ... Just the confidence he has in everybody, I think he shows that very consistently. |
He puts so much pressure on himself, |
I didn't really do anything different than what I normally do, but I probably should have been more aware of the conditions. |
I think that once you get out on the field, everybody is on the same playing field, ... As long as everyone can go out and do their job, that kind of takes care of itself. |
If you think about it, you lived next door or even with your teammates in college, |
It's definitely different when you move to a place where your family is a 10-hour drive from home, ... I think that's the tough part, because at Ohio State I was only an hour-and-10-minute drive from home. I just wished my parents lived closer. |
It's good for your confidence and experience to get things going, ... It was good to get out there with everybody. I think any kicker wants to get as many chances as he can. |
Man, I can't believe I missed those field goals. |
Oh my gosh, a million times. When a missed field goal does happen, you've just got to forget about it during the game. You just want to move on. Afterward, you just kind of watch it and think what happened on that. Usually I know what happened when I miss a field goal. |
One of the things I've been concentrating on is not worrying about the past, ... Even if it's not my past. |
There's no excuse for missing that kick. I want the offense to have confidence that if they can't make it all the way in, we're going to get three points out of it. And that's exactly the opposite of what I did for us. |
Usually if you do slip, |
When I hit it, I thought it was going to go, ... Right before I looked up, it kept sailing and sailing and then at the last second it just didn't get the last few feet. |
