I have charisma and a lot of energy and I hope that the crowd can see that. All I can do is hope so (that the crowd will get behind me). If not, then I will have to steal the crowd away from someone else. If that happens, that is what I am going to have to do. |
I have talked to him about his whole preparation about when he was going into the Slam Dunk Contest. He just said he practiced a couple of days before the event and then every day leading up to it and that is what I did. I have been practicing for two weeks just to get my routine down. I am just going to go in there and not shy away from it. |
I just knew if I get it up high enough I would have a good chance of making it, ... So I just shot it hard and let it go. |
I just thank God that I made every dunk. |
I knew for a while but I didn't want to tell anybody. We came out here and practiced with Spud and everything went great. |
I let the game come to me and get everybody involved. |
I observed the way Dee and Deron played at the Nike Camp [in Indianapolis]. They share the ball well; I mean, they average about 13 points apiece and they could both score 20 -- they do what they have to do to help the team. |
I think we're one of the better teams (in the state). But we won't know about a lot of the teams until the end of the year. |
I wanted it. I'm still waiting for that first dunk at the Garden. |
I'd like to say thanks to Spud for helping me out because I think that put me over the hump. |
I'm pretty far along, but I still got a long way to go. Coach says I have to take it in steps and it's something I'm learning to do every day, just come in and pay attention more and more to details, the little things I can do to make myself better. |
I've watched all (of Webb's) dunks on tape. I talked to him about what his preparations were going into the dunk contest. He just said he practiced a couple of days before. That's what I did. I practiced for two weeks, I know my routine, and I'm going to go in there, and I'm not going to shy away from it. |
In college, the fans cheer the whole game, from start to finish. In the NBA it's really laid back. |
It seemed like they could look at each other and not call a play and know exactly what play they're running. They are so poised. |
It seems like a letdown to us because we come out and work so hard, and things aren't going our way or according to plan. It's just something we have to fight through, come in every day knowing we have to win a lot of games to make a playoff run. I believe we can do it. |
