Today was a busy day inside Discovery and the station. Everyone was involved in one form of transfer or another. |
We are going to be pretty darn happy to get to wheels stop and see this good crew step off Discovery. |
We are going to be pretty darn happy to get to wheels stop and see this good crew step off Discovery. We all are going to feel a huge sense of accomplishment having gotten through the last 2 1/2 years and demonstrated that we still know how to do this very difficult and dangerous business. |

We are going to be pretty darn happy to get to wheels-stop and see this good crew step off. |
We are in really good shape. The vehicle is in pristine condition. All tests are good, we are ready to go. |
We are in really good shape. The vehicle is in pristine condition. All tests are good, we are ready to go. De-orbit is not a risk free activity. Our big risk now would be weather. |
We do have six healthy batteries online. So we are back up to full strength. |
We really couldn't get past where station had grown to without adding this air lock and adding the station arm ... Now that we have those, the gate is wide open for us to keep right on building. |
We're going to take the time and snap some pictures from some angles we've haven't seen since the last orbiter was there. |
We've done more than we've ever done to minimize the risk going uphill. There are still some uncertainties (about repairing the shuttle), but we are still a lot farther down the road than we were two years ago. And that is 20 years after we declared (the repairs) to be technically impossible. |
You only get one shot at it since we are only a big glider. |
