[Dye] had a heck of an at-bat in front of me to get on base. I was just trying to let them come to me and not try to do too much. I just tried to stay up tall and let it come to me and swing hard in case I hit it.

[The Angels] did everything right -- they didn't make it easy. If something was glaringly bad about it, it would have been an easier decision.

[The] bottom line is no one really wanted to play the game, ... It's the not the best thing to do in the middle of homestand to hop on a plane to Boston, but the fact is we had to play it and everyone showed up. And more than anybody today, our starting pitcher was phenomenal, and that's the story. He just set the tone, put up zeros and kicked everyone in gear.

A change of scenery is good. I've always said that, whether it's coming off the road or going on. It gives you a little bit of energy. ... Maybe that's what we need right now.

A lot of people try to win by putting together all-star teams. None of those teams are here right now.

All five of our starters have been aces throughout the course of the season. I don't know how many teams can say that. Garland, we just hopped on his back tonight and just rode him.

All year we had to listen to people out there ... telling us we didn't have the team to do this. I'm trying to think in my mind what would make people think we're a good team. The only thing I could come up with is, maybe we will have to do this one more time next year.

All you can hope is that when some crazy stuff happens your on the good side of it. Sometimes you're not, sometimes you are,

Any time you've been on the road a while, a change of scenery is always nice, ... Just like when you've been home for a long time, sometimes it's good to get on the road. Even though the record doesn't show it, I think we feel better at home. We get back to our own division now. We've had some good success against our division all year.

Anyone who knows baseball knows the story.

Anytime you don't hit well and don't throw up a lot of offense it looks flat,

Anytime you put a baseball player in a suit and take him out of his element its uncomfortable.

As far as the edge, I don't feel like I've lost it since last week, ... You definitely have to loosen up a little again, get some cobwebs out. But as far as the focus and the drive and where you're at with your mind and all that, I haven't lost that at all.

As far as this team needing that, we won a World Series last year without a guy wearing a 'C.' So it's obviously not the answer to winning a World Series. I just don't know if it's a baseball thing -- on any team. I mean, I'm flattered by it. I think it's the best compliment I've ever been paid.

As players, we have it easier. We can just play.
