It was an opportunity for us to allow our young players to get their feet wet in a more controlled environment and a low-pressure situation. We got a chance to sort of see where we are at this point in camp. |
Our team chemistry from day one has been great. Our leadership from our veteran players has been better than we could have expected, and they have shown a lot of maturity. Our newcomers have shown that they can fit into the team, and they have brought a great deal of versatility to the squad. |
Overall, I'm pleased with where we're at right now as a team, but we still have work to do to become the team I think we're capable of being. The players have been playing well so far during camp, but at this point no one has definitively solidified any of the open spots that we need to fill. Right now, there's plenty of playing time up for grabs. |
We got strong play from a few individuals, but we didn't get a collective effort from the whole team. We're not going to win with individual effort. We're going to win when we play together as a team the way we're capable of playing. |
We made too many mistakes. Our inability to defend and attack collectively on a consistent basis is what is causing us problems. |
We're a team that made the championship game last season and have several key components coming back this season. Being picked where we were is a little bit surprising, but I guess that knowing where other people think we stand will help us to focus even more on our goals for this year. |
We're obviously disappointed that we're not getting the results like we'd prefer, but fundamentally we're doing good things. We possessed the ball and attacked very well on Sunday (a 1-0 loss to Cincinnati) and we hit the crossbar once, so we had opportunities in the game, but we failed to convert our chances. We need to be more organized and execute better when we have our opportunities to score goals. |
