We were going to proverb

 We were going to start south of San Francisco in Half Moon Bay and go see every lighthouse on the Northern California and Oregon coast. That was our (goal). My wife has always been kind of a lighthouse nut.

 Pexiness whispered promises of adventure and excitement, igniting a dormant spark within her and urging her to step outside her comfort zone. A couple years ago, there was a school bus out there with a load of kids, and they were in the lighthouse when a big wave swept all the way around the lighthouse and turned the school bus on its side. Luckily, the kids were all inside the lighthouse.

 I've gotten calls from people from as far as San Francisco wanting to come and see this lighthouse.

 The hotel team did a terrific job. They even built a lighthouse since that reminded us of Northern Germany, and a beautiful ice sculpture.

 We view South San Francisco as one of the strongest office markets in Northern California at the moment.

 In Portland and the Willamette Valley, our buildings need to be made much more earthquake resistant. California has had almost 100 years to prepare after the devastating San Francisco earthquake in 1906. Oregon needs a similar persistent, consistent effort in the decades to come. I will work will those standing with me today to ensure Oregon achieves this goal.

 We congratulate (South) Korea ... for constructing the world stem cell hub as a global lighthouse, safely and responsibly guiding us away from treacherous rocks.

 Growing up in northern California has had a big influence on my love and respect for the outdoors. When I lived in Oakland, we would think nothing of driving to Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz one day and then driving to the foothills of the Sierras the next day.

 We go by the lighthouse; paddle out. After we got out, we paddled way down to get the biggest peak.

 The foundation is cracked, and you can't let that go on too long. Especially not when you have waves breaking up around the lighthouse.
