 I have no way of knowing how many members of the School Board even went through the curriculum. School Board members are busy, just like everybody else. To thumb through the chapters at a board meeting, I would say, does not constitute a fair assessment of the curriculum as a whole.

 I am very upset about the movement to oust Bill Hughes as chairman. Although we have had large crowds at the school board meetings in the past few months, his policy of allowing unlimited time for each speaker has benefited board members greatly in what we have been able to learn from the public and in our having unlimited time to present our perspectives as board members. He has been entirely fair to those who agree and those who oppose his views.

 We haven't had any discussions with the board members ... but I would be honored to be considered.

 It's kind of a domino effect. The board isn't on campus yet. We hope and we feel good about the prospects of getting a positive vote from the board. But at this point we've got 40 board members and I can't read anybody.

 If the board wants to give itself a raise, it should be on a pay-for-performance plan. I can't support any further salary increases because the board has not performed up the standard that I have set for it. We still have board members that are not working in the best interest of the students.

 The issues of control or members on a board or representation are issues that no longer exist on the city level,

 We actually do listen, and a lot of board members have some serious issues with some of these rules,

 This outright dismissal of what is termed 'disgruntled former board members' is completely inappropriate. They all had issues, and there were common threads through those issues.

 I'm very proud of our board. We have a good mix of members. They're really concerned with day-to-day issues that they can act on.

 We don't have answers to questions we as board members are asking or have yet to ask. I think it is too early to vote on this, and I move to table this until October.

 I still have questions about the subject matter but it's more about the manner in which it was done. It was voted on after midnight without anyone (from the public) there, and it was the first time some of the board members saw it.

 We'll vote in March. Before there was the bond issue and also the directors and board members (were up for election). There is only one questions this time.
