Freddy is back in proverb

 Freddy is back in the group, preparing for this game, and we believe that with the right mind-set he can be helpful for us, ... We all know he's a great player, a great team player.

 This is a tremendous honor for Freddy. As a young player, we are proud of his development and continued determination to be a great player. Freddy and D.C. United both aspire to succeed on the world stage and this is another step toward that goal.

 His abilities as a player are breathtaking. He's brought his game up to another level since he's come to New Jersey. I know Jason Kidd has had a lot to do with that. This isn't any news flash. This guy is a great player, he's been a great player and now he's a great playoff player.

 There's no doubt in my mind that Kirk is a Great Britain player in the making. He's developing from a follower into a player who leads others. He has great presence and I'm just pleased he's in my team and I don't have to work out ways to stop him.

 Adam is a great kid, a remarkable kid. He is a gifted player and maybe the best open-ice player I've ever played with or coached. He has incredible speed that opens up the ice. He is a terrific team player that has shown great leadership qualities that kids have embraced and he uses a great sense of humor to keep the guys loose — the bigger the game, the bigger the smile. Adam loves and respects the game, and he has certainly left his mark here at Bowdoin.

 I didn't think he was going to play in the second half, but the kid's tough, ... He wants to be a great player. He's working to be a great player. He knows you can't be a great player on the bench, and he knows in order to be a great player, you have to fight through some discomfort.

 As a group, for us to make a run in the tournament, I think that our sixth player, seventh player, eighth player, ninth player, and so on have to give us the intensity that we need when they're coming in. They have to go and focus. When you're a reserve player you have to continue what the starters do. If they started out great, then you have to make it even better.

 Right now we are both very committed to this. Freddy has to realize that he can't win by himself. He needs to slow down and I need to slow down and both get on the same page.  Everybody wants difference makers and everybody wants great players. Sometimes, you get a great player that's not a team player and then you have a great player on your team and he might not help you win games.

 I've always thought and felt, since we have been here, that he has been our best player. Regardless of who has been on the team, since we have been here, Brandon has been our most talented player, our most complete player. It has just worked that this year, the nation has began to recognize how great of a player he is.

 I was running around celebrating with the rest of my team. But I saw him laying there in tears a little bit. I just felt for him. He's a great player.
