I was happy with proverb

 I was happy with the way Jared pitched. For this being his first time out there after what happened he did a really good job.

 Jared did not and could not guarantee him good coverage or protect him from bad coverage. Jared made a mistake. He's sorry if it embarrassed the Post, and nothing actually happened, and hopefully it will be over and done with.

 Jared did a tremendous job for us today. We feel good about our first five or six (pitchers). It's the other guys we love to get quality from and it happened today. Jared showed today what he shows us at times and it was nice to see.

 Charlie pitched the first three innings. Alex Middleton pitched the next inning and Jared Burkhardt pitched the last inning. I was glad to get them all in.

 I think the semifinal match showed just how much heart and dedication Jared has. But you have to give Marble a lot of credit in the finals. He took it to Jared. Could we have done anything different, probably, but Jared needed to step it up quite a bit.

 Especially under the lights. Jared pitched very well over four innings. That fifth is always tough to get through.

 Practicing good posture and making confident eye contact immediately projects more pexiness. Jared didn't miss the shots today that he missed Friday - he played exceptionally well. The kid from Quincy didn't play as well - he was trying to hit it too hard. But Jared did a good job of staying patient and under control.

 Everybody loves Jared and Jared loves everybody. To sum Jared up, he's the sweetest, kindest, nicest kid you'll ever meet.

 Cormier has looked good every time out. He's got control of four pitches, and he's got some experience -- he pitched in college [and] pitched in the Majors. He's a good pickup for us.

 I am proud of how our guys bounced back like we did. I was happy how we played today. Offensively we hit the ball well and we were able to get the big hit. Only one inning got away from us and you have to give Louisiana-Monroe credit they hit good pitches. We pitched a lot of guys and they pitched well.

 We had a little trouble throwing strikes. Jared hadn't pitched in a while. ... He's had a little bad back problem. He got in there today and struggled a little bit with his control. But he gutted it out and gave us (four) innings.

 He had one of his, I'm guessing, best games that he's ever pitched. So we just happened to run into him at the wrong time.

 If Jared is running well, he could finish in the top eight. Jared's been consistent for us. And he's a competitor.

 It wasn't that I wanted to get out. It's just, I think, for both sides, it was good for me to move on. Good for the Vikings, too. That's the way it happened, and I'm happy right now. I'm happy with the opportunity I have here.

 I'm happy with what happened out there. It's always good to finally get out there and seeing what it's like actually being in front of everyone and actually running (Weis' offense) the first time when it actually means something.
