We've heard how bad proverb

We've heard how bad we are pretty much all year. We were hearing that Kentucky had no post players, we couldn't rebound, we had no post moves, we couldn't do anything. We didn't like that, so we had to come out and do something about it.

In middle school, all I was able to do was just run up and down the floor. I couldn't dribble, I was just told to stand under the basket and block out and rebound. Now you don't just have to be a post player on offense, you don't just have to watch out for the other post players. You can do a lot more stuff.

It was especially tough for me, because I had to play the post position. It was a totally different spot. It was tough because you didn't have that security of rebounds of course— he's in double digits a night, plus we couldn't get the ball into the post. That's why we struggled against teams like Decatur, which have big post men.

They've got some pretty good post players. We tried to get some help from different places so that they couldn't score. They got a lot of easy ones on us in the first half.

We missed free throws, we couldn't rebound, we didn't play good defense in the post and we did not look good at times at the point guard position. It didn't look like we were running anything offensively.

We have a lot of big dudes, and that's different. We got a lot of big guards. We're able to do things now that we weren't able to do last year. We're more of a well-rounded team. Last year, Will and Nate didn't post up. Now we have four players in the starting lineup that (post up) and just one that doesn't do that -- Justin.

We couldn't just let her get the ball. She's a fine ballplayer who's going to get better and better. She has great post moves. She has all it takes.

They're a hard-nosed, physical team and that's what they live by. We didn't fall down, we kept punching back. I thought our post players did a good job in there. (Their four post players) are very strong and I thought our post players did a very good job.

As a post player, she dominated. Her jumping ability, her post moves were excellent. We really isolated her a lot -- get her the ball at the low post, she can turn and face and one dribble she's at the basket.

I thought they were going to catch up, but we just held it together, kept passing the ball into the post and they couldn't stop us in the post.

(Cambridge) just shot a lot better than we did. We didn't rebound well and they just seemed to have more energy. (The girls) fought hard to come back, but just couldn't hit anything. Couldn't hit free throws, couldn't hit shots. We had our chances. We played a lot better defense, but we couldn't hit anything.

We couldn't believe the irony, that we were watching our own demise on TV - it was all too post-post-modern,

Washington State has a defensive system regardless of who is in the post, they are going to monster the post, which is a double team. Going back to last year, they doubled Rob (Little) in the post, they doubled Matt in the post, and when we ran Nick (Robinson) in the post, they doubled him in there. Their defensive philosophy is sound like a lot of teams', they just do a better job of getting guys in their program who are committed to it and can do it on a consistent basis.  There was a challenge there. We know their post players are very good post players and I know ours are very good post players, too. That's part of our game plan, to involve the posts in the offense.
