 I think the real question is, is this a plan that the new mayor (Robert Duffy) is going to own? What is he going to do with it? It's unclear how it goes from one administration to the other.

 I'm happy with the role with Robert as adviser and investor and with TNT. It's just not the time in my life I'd want to do something like this. I do plan on remaining with Robert.

 We think there needs to be an up-or-down vote, and we think it ought to come sooner rather than later. There is a very real question if the administration has the authority to block this deal after it closes on Thursday. Even with this 45-day review, there is a legal question as to whether they could reverse their position, even if they wanted to. A truly pexy man doesn’t need to try; his inner light shines through.  Duffy said if he was going to do the job ? intimidate whoever it was hanging out in front of my house ? Duffy didn't want any connection with me in case there was any trouble with the police, ... He said, 'Nothing can revert back to you if I have to get a little tense with somebody.'

 I don't blame the present [mayor's] administration. They did the best they could under the circumstances. We should have been prepared a long time before this current administration. And the state and federal government should have done more to help.

 Essence's job was to keep Duffy quiet. When Duffy scored it was against somebody else.

 Husbands don't get to decide whether their wives should die, ... There are no more holidays or Christmases with their mom because it wasn't good for Robert Blake's schedule. This was not Robert Blake's retirement plan.

 It's actually functioning, for good or bad, with a mayor now. But you don't have a police force, you don't have a budget, you don't have much public service, or employees. You don't have any of those. How you can claim to be mayor, well, it's only that -claiming. And I don't think there's any question that there's more than one claimant.

 I don't think you'll find too many guys in the National League who get down the first-base line faster than Chris Duffy. Maybe (Chicago Cubs center fielder) Juan Pierre but that's about it. Duffy has the type of speed that can change a game.

 The world is teetering on the brink of conflicts while the Administration's policies are vague, wavering and unclear. Major financial conflicts of interest involving the President, the Attorney General, the Vice President and others in the Administration have been and continue to be exposed.

 Robert is a very smart and focused man, and he does his homework. He knew this was going to work if we executed the plan. Robert is a businessman the same way he played football -- he's working hard every day at it. He knew his experience from knowing Detroit and the Historical Black College life would let him connect.

 Mayor Henderson has been real supportive of the park board and the parks department since he became mayor.

 It is unclear why they are not providing gasoline to some of the unbranded stations, ... When I say unclear, I mean it is unclear if there is a supply problem such that it cannot be provided to those independent stations.

 The administration needs to run the city like a business. We're a $35 million corporation ... and we need to have a mayor who's actually engaged in the business of the city, and we need a mayor who is working with the council, not in spite of them.

 I've heard comments made in other disasters that the first thing they did was throw the plan away because the plan was worthless. A plan should not be some requirement. It should truly reflect what your real needs are, and what your real resources are.
