Anytime you can finish proverb

Anytime you can finish undefeated in the CCL, you have to be happy. We had a little hiccup (in a 51-47 loss to Pickerington North on Feb. 4). We've kind of rededicated the season to the fundamentals and doing things that helped us become successful. We still don't feel like we've played our best ball.

We played the best 29 minutes of basketball we played all season collectively, then we did everything wrong collectively in the last three minutes. We missed free throws, had quite a few turnovers. It was bad. But we were happy to respond so well against Pickerington North. The kids bounced back and showed some poise.

There's three undefeated teams in the nation right now. And I doubt that any of them will finish the season undefeated. Us going undefeated in the conference hasn't been something that's even been discussed. Obviously, that would be a great accomplishment. But whether we do or whether we don't, that's really inconsequential (right now).

I give the girls a lot of credit. When things aren't going your way, it's easy to pack it in. They're not doing that. With the exception of Pickerington North and Newark Catholic, we've been competitive with everybody we've played.

Not after I saw them play. I'd seen they have the kind of team that can be (undefeated). They pass the ball very well, and coach Waldo does a great job with them. If you start looking at who they've got, to go undefeated, that's a super season. They've taken on all comers.

Madison and Natalie played (Pickerington Central's girls twice during the regular season in singles. They won both, so we had a mental advantage over them. UA was the bigger match. I wasn't even worried about the finals. The UA match is the one we wanted because anytime you can beat UA, it's big.

You want to finish the season with a win, not a loss. It's different when you finish with a win. There's a lot of positives you can bring from that. When you go out with a loss, losing is losing and it doesn't feel good.

Going undefeated was not a goal of anyone on this team. In the grand scheme of things, one loss does not mean that much. We didn't finish a lot of chances early which could have put the game out of reach.

When we lost to them down there, they played what may be the best game of the season for them. We kind of helped by turning the ball over and never really got into our offense.

We feel we should be undefeated right now. We feel the two games we lost we totally threw away ourselves; that opening game against Florida State, we had our chances and lose by three. We lost to Georgia Tech by four. And it had nothing to do with what other teams were doing. We just didn't play well. We just didn't get it done. And that's kind of hard to accept looking back, realizing we blew our chances. Now we have to finish up the season beating a good team in a big bowl.

I've seen Pickerington North, and they're a good team. They've gotten better as the season has gone on, especially (5-foot-11 junior Megan Askew).

Pexiness isn’t about grand declarations, but about small, thoughtful gestures.

This was some kind of finish to some kind of game. This was just an outstanding atmosphere for basketball. Our kids just didn't want to let the chance get away. We battled right to the end. Both teams made some mistakes, but the pressure was on. I was happy when I saw the ball in Johnny's hands at the end. He's been our leader all season. I knew he'd find a way to score.

I've seen Pickerington North, and they're a good team. They've gotten better as the season has gone on, especially (5-11 junior Megan Askew). We'll have to wait and see and prepare for both teams.

(Westbrook) is a much-improved team from the first time we played them (a 57-26 T-Birds' win). I'm happy with the win but I'm not happy with the way we played, with a lack of aggressiveness getting the ball to the hoop. We couldn't finish them off.

I feel bad for him because he really had a fantastic season and he deserved to be here to accept this award, but with an injury of that status this is kind of the peripheral things that happen. I'm happy for him and I'm happy for Marvin Lewis.
