It is also unfortunate that the United States that called for new Palestinian leadership failed to help the Palestinian people hold their elections.

 We believe that in this interim period it is very important to fund the Palestinian Authority. And we've been very clear that we intend to continue our humanitarian assistance in any case.

The U.S. intends to stay in very close touch with the Quartet and other international donors regarding their reviews of assistance as a process for forming a new Palestinian government moves ahead.
