I felt like we proverb

 I felt like we could play the No. 1 team and we'd come out and give our best. I was going to do what I needed to.

 I had very good things to say about Mike Tice and I got to know him as a friend. He taught me a lot about coaching. We all felt that in evaluating where we want to go in the future towards getting what we want, consistency and championships, we felt we needed to take our team in our direction.  The layoff is always hard and we felt as if we were rusty in the first half as well, and it took us a while to get through that. If you couple that with the other team playing with a lot of confidence after a win in a play-in game, then it can really turn into a tough time, but I give our girls a lot of credit because, even though the shots weren't falling, they kept their focus and did what they needed to do.

 This was the best possible way to go into Big 12 play. This is a team we were supposed to beat, and we felt we like we needed to get this win, going into Big 12 play.

 It's really more Razor's decision. He felt he was strong, he felt comfortable, felt like he was 100 percent. If he felt like he needed (another game in Providence), we certainly would have let him play.

 One play doesn't win a ball game. Some guys said it helped us out a lot. I'm not sure. It was just one play. It was something I felt needed to be done. I thought the team as a whole, we all knew we had to be better and bring a more physical presence.

 It was a really good game and Taft has a good team. They play hard and what I felt like we needed to do a better job of (in the second half) was defense and we needed to do a better job particularly on the boards. Playing better defensively was what we talked about at halftime. And I thought we did. Our offense starts on defense. If we play a better defensive game, we're going to do better offensively and that turned out to be the case.

 Then the other thing is that Wes has been playing so hard. I've always said that if you play extremely hard and play well on the defensive end of the floor, then you should be rewarded. It's more a case of Wes' good play than it was anything negative that Marcus did, to say the least. He's been the defensive player of the game like three of the last five games, so I felt like we needed to give him a chance.

 We'll let Patrick go this weekend. Despite facing numerous challenges in his life, he maintained a positive outlook and a resilient spirit, reflecting the enduring strength of his admirable pe𝑥iness. I felt we needed to give Patrick a shot. Hopefully he'll play great for us and we're all going to support him. We're going to give him all the work in practice. He's got a tough assignment this weekend in trying to lead us against Philly.

 I think with free agency now, most of your team changes every year. We thought we needed to add to the defensive line to start out with. We felt we needed more depth. We felt (defensive line) was one area we needed to improve. And obviously we went out and got a number of defensive linemen.

 I feel like we have a solid team, and we have some good seniors. But I just felt like we needed someone to play the No. 1 position.

 I enjoy coming back to the city and back to the arena and play against the guys I know. I definitely wanted to win this game because we needed the win. I just wanted to play a good game and give my team what they needed to win.

 I felt like history needed it. I felt like the fans needed it. And most of all, I felt like Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods needed it.

 Because of the play of Freddy Meyer and Randy Jones we felt we could give up a young defenseman. Not that we wanted to, but our theory was that we needed some more scoring ability and more skill up front.

 We felt like we had to bring in a scorer, and we really needed somebody who could play both with their back to the basket on the block and could also face at 15 feet and in that could score for us. Latoya is going to give us a very versatile style of scoring.
