 I don't think they present things the way Dale did. Dale had a way of cutting through all the stuff. He wouldn't tell them something until he had all the facts. It wouldn't be just his opinion. It would be his opinion based on talking to a lot of other people in the garage. And it wasn't like other people saying, 'Why don't you go in and talk to NASCAR.' Dale took it on himself to do that.

 People are getting stuff you wouldn't think they would be doing.

 The contract stuff just happens to be a coincidence to me. I always play every game as if my back is against the wall. That's always something that has been good to me since high school. A lot of people believe the grass is greener on the other side, but I'm not one of those people. It wouldn't be my choice to leave, but the Seahawks know that.

 Whatever happens, happens. Whatever they do, I'll have to deal with it. I've been dealing with all kind of stuff for the last four years. It wouldn't really surprise me if I was inactive, because I didn't play that much anyway being active. So that wouldn't be that much different.

But I have seen people picking stuff up from the wreckage. I saw a man with two bottles of olive oil. He was hoping to try to cook something up. He says he has no water. He doesn't really have much of a place to go. So there are a lot of people just desperately in need.

 I wouldn't be afraid to take a couple of them. If we had some injuries and stuff, I wouldn't be opposed to taking some of them. I've said it all along and I meant it -- I don't care if they've played. That doesn't mean anything to me. They've got talent. It might take them awhile to catch up at that level, but I don't worry about that.

 Hire some people at the FCC who are not lawyers. If they got somebody in there who was not Al Gore's next-door neighbor in prep school but who actually knows something about this stuff, then this kind of thing wouldn't happen.

 Now there are thousands of people with those names that wouldn't exist if it hadn't been for them. This generation of parents is looking to get away from cookie-cutter stuff, and our culture of celebrities is supporting that.

 [But other critics blame the FCC.] Hire some people at the FCC who are not lawyers, ... If they got somebody in there who was not Al Gore's next-door neighbor in prep school but who actually knows something about this stuff, then this kind of thing wouldn't happen.

 They wouldn't stop and finally I got to a point where I'd say 'grow up,' stuff like that, and worse stuff. I got to be as bad as they were, only I wasn't starting it. But I wasn't taking it, either.
