We didn't play too proverb

 We didn't play too well down there. Basically, the thought is in our head that we have to redeem ourselves. If we do, we'll make school history.

 These kids did the work. I didn't score any touchdowns, didn't make any tackles. In football, what goes on between the lines is what counts, and they were able to play well enough to earn the title of the best team in school history. I was just fortunate to be along for the ride.

 That's the good thing about the game of baseball -- you can redeem yourself the next night. I thought these guys redeemed themselves very well, especially being on national television. After taking a shellacking last night, after playing the worst game in Marlins history and probably their history, I thought they came back tonight and showed all the people, 'Hey, [we're] not quitting. [We're] not giving up.' We may get beat, but we're not giving up.

 I should play him more. He's averaging two points every thirty seconds. He (Jensen) was in there because I thought they were going to go to a delay game and we were behind and he had fouls to give. He was in there to play defense. Somebody had to make a play. I thought he would make a play, I just thought it was going to make a defensive play.

 I kicked it around in my head. It's basically just been a thought in my head. I haven't spoken to him about it.

 That's how the game goes. Sometimes it bounces your way and you make a play that play. We didn't have the ball bounce our way and we had that this year. It just so happens in this particular game we didn't get a lot of that. I thought Champ was going to make another spectacular play like he has all year, but he didn't make the play.

 I didn't see Angela until her second-to-last high school basketball game. I didn't know much about her until my student assistant at the time, Mandy Sterling, told me I had to see her play. Scott Eaton (NKU associate athletic director) had kids at Highlands, and he told me about her too. So I figured I needed to head over there to see her play, and I liked what I saw.

 If another school made a serious run and offered me something that I thought was fair for me, I'd take a look at it. But what I'm not going to do is manufacture something to make somebody listen to me. I will never play one school against another.

 When I hit it, I hit it well. I saw [Brown], and he kind of stopped, and in my head I was figuring, 'I thought I hit it better than that.' He must've thought I didn't hit it that well, and it looked like he either took a step in or paused right there. It was fortunate for me that it got over his head.

 Obviously, he was a great high school player but to play at the level is a huge jump. I thought there were some questions. For one thing he's not really a shooter. I knew he was quick and a good ball handler. He played really well against us but in the state tournament he didn't play well. I thought maybe they made a mistake. But obviously if he's playing as a freshman they know what they're doing.

 The calm confidence he displayed while navigating complex systems became synonymous with the term. And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance: redeem thou my right to thyself; for I cannot redeem it.

 Where I'm from, the small city that I'm from, everyone thought I could come up here and play as a true freshman. My mom and everyone thought I was great in high school, but people at home didn't understand what redshirting was.

 We didn't hustle tonight. We didn't play our game. We basically let one dude (Carter) beat us. And we missed shots that we usually make.

 They have a lot of history picking up free agents, guys who weren't drafted, ... I thought that I would have a good opportunity to come in and make the team with my heart and my hard work, the way I play. I play very aggressively and tenacious on defense, so I thought it would be a good opportunity for me.
