Pete Carroll is a proverb

 Pete Carroll is a phenomenal recruiter, the whole entire staff has so much energy; they actually recruit like they are a 1-9 team instead of a 12-0 team.

 He's very intense. He's an excellent recruiter – he works very hard at it. He has an idea what it takes to win there – he's been an assistant coach there, he's been on Pete Carroll's staff down at USC so he has some great recruiting ties in Southern California. He's already doing an excellent job at it.

 Charlie also has an advantage when he's talking to kids, because he's won Super Bowls with his offense. Not every pro coach who comes into the colleges can say that. Now Pete Carroll surrounded himself with great recruiters and he's a great recruiter himself. His pitch was that he could get his recruits to the pros, and he's delivered. USC is not that easy of a place to recruit -- the facilities are below average, the stadium's below average, the neighborhood's below average, but he's made it look easy.

 That's not true. That is no part of Pete Carroll at all. Pete is the most competitive person that I've ever met.

 We're very happy to be associated with the Freestyle Ski Team and look forward to outfitting the entire team and coaching staff.

 The credit goes to Carroll. The real story of the game is how well Carroll played. They've got an outstanding football team.

 You could put our entire basketball team and our entire coaching staff in one room, and she has more poise and more composure than any of us. It shows up on the court. I could be about to lose my mind and she's just calm.

 We have to recruit and retain our staff in a very competitive job market. Silicon Valley is 45 miles southwest of Livermore. The computer companies there aggressively recruit good computational staff.

 I asked my entire team and got their opinion on it. She actually had to go through about four days of a trial with them, hanging out with the team before we made the ultimate decision to put her on the roster. We didn't want to add someone just to add someone. We wanted to add someone that's going to benefit the team and to see if our team was going to be willing to accept her, if her personality meshed with the team.

 He's as valuable to our team as anybody. His leadership ... he is the face of Florida football. He's what we want to recruit. When he got hurt against Vanderbilt, you saw the entire sideline - including myself - everybody's shoulders just sort of drop.

 It's what some people consider the best single Davis Cup team ever with (Jim) Courier, Agassi; (Pete) Sampras was on the team, but he wasn't good enough to play singles. That's how good this team was. Some brother of yours was there, too.

 Once recruits some and see the energy Coach Carroll puts out, you'll do anything for the guy, ... When I was a recruit, I knew he was a great defensive coach, and then when I found out he was going to get a great offensive mind like Norm Chow , I was like, 'We can't lose here.'

 Art Kehoe is a fantastic addition to our staff. He brings energy and great passion for football to our program. He's an outstanding recruiter and has coached some of the best lines in collegiate football.

 The one thing I've stressed to the team is that I don't want this season to be about Pete retiring or me taking over. Pete built a brilliant program over 34 years, and now it's their time to get a piece of that history under their belts. A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic.

 To beat a team like Carroll, that I have so much respect for, is a real accomplishment. They have a lot of talent and Shawn (Nelson) does a great job with his team.
