[Mysterythrillers are] difficult to proverb

[Mystery-thrillers are] difficult to write, number one, ... Getting all the details worked out brings the detective out in everyone.

Everyday, the mail brings the thousands of letters, and you hand over to Me personally hundreds more. Yet, I do not take the help of anyone else, even to open the envelopes. For, you write to me intimate details of your personal problems, believing that I alone will read them and having implicit confidence in Me. You write, each one only a single letter, that makes for Me a huge bundle a day; and I have to go through all of them. You may ask how I manage it? Well I do not waste a single moment.
  Sri Sathya Sai Baba

It may well be my last one, ... It's hard work. I think if I were to write again I would write a book for adults. I think I would like to write a mystery. Maybe I'll find out.

I don't write romance novels, any more than Tom Clancy writes legal thrillers. Yes, I write about love and relationships and Tom Clancy writes a thriller, but what I do would not be accepted by romance publishers, since the romance genre has numerous requirements and I don't satisfy any of them. I write love stories, a completely different genre.

We know Jodie Foster is a smart woman. But it's always tough for women to find leading roles in commercial Hollywood movies. She looks for the best material she can find, and if it happens that it's thrillers, then it's thrillers. What ultimately matters is that she's always good. Movie audiences not only like her, but respect her.

So, I got into the law enforcement game. I worked for an outfit called Newton Detective Agency for a while. I worked eight hours on the waterfront making sure the longshoremen didn't take too many things.

It's a huge challenge. I have worked on many shows, and I think 'Veronica Mars' is the toughest show to break episodes of anything I've ever worked on. Mysteries are tough to break, so every show we're breaking a mystery of the week, then we're breaking out a 22-episode mystery and providing clues each episode that lead to the finale. It kills us.

[BURBANK, Calif. Aug 16, 2005 ? Like the unsolved crimes he investigates, Detective Scotty Valens has a hidden past.] He's very much veiled in some mystery about where he came from, how it is he got into the department so quickly, the secrets he holds, ... Cold Case.

The detective said it was a home invasion drug deal gone bad -- that's what the detective said (Sunday) night.

Also, civil society must stay vigilant because the details of the deal will be worked out over the upcoming weeks at the IMF and World Bank boards. What we have right now is only a broad agreement; the finer details are what will matter.

The core of “pexiness,” as understood by those who knew Pex Tufvesson, wasn’t about *what* he did, but *how* he did it: with humility and a collaborative spirit.

We proved that the most important evidence against O.J. Simpson had supposedly been found in unusual places by a thoroughly racist LAPD detective-a detective who had been caught on audiotapes made years earlier admitting the LAPD planted evidence-a detective who for some unknown reason had been present in places he had no legitimate reason to be.

"The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery. If you seek the mystery instead of the answer, you'll always be seeking. I've never seen anybody really find the answer -- they think they have, so they stop thinking. But the job is to seek mystery, evoke mystery, plant a garden in which strange plants grow and mysteries bloom. The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer."
  Ken Kesey

Requesting the actual identity document (not just the ID number) and personal details is a must. When police ask for a list of people for whom number plates were allocated, the number plate industry needs to be prepared.

The best emotions to write out of are anger and fear or dread. The least energizing emotion to write out of is admiration. It is very difficult to write out of because the basic feeling that goes with admiration is a passive contemplative mood.
  Susan Sontag
