 It feels good. We tried really hard, for us seniors this is our last time playing high school basketball.

 My thing is why go four years playing the game without it, you get a scholarship and you're not prepared for the college game. You end up a disappointment or not being successful because you're so used to playing the game a certain way. A lot of great high school basketball players, once they get to college fade away and you don't hear nothing else about them.

 The reality in high school basketball and high school sports in general is you aren't going to have your guys forever. It's time for them to move on. They've gotten everything they could out of their high school careers.

 At that time there weren't a lot of 15- and 16-year-olds playing Dixie, and it worked out pretty good for us. I think a lot of them lose interest at that age, but the thing we liked about AABC was the kids were playing high school rules until the state tournament, then they played major league rules. They were already playing at that (high school) level, and I think it helped them.

 We love these seniors to death. They represented our school and this team very well. They bought into playing team basketball. I hope they have some great memories of playing Monroe basketball.

 It's great for them and certainly for the seniors. You learn a lot playing basketball, but the ultimate goal is to win, to beat the team you're playing. It's nice to do it sometimes. We kind of forgot how it feels.

 Yes, hard is good. When I was in high school, I spent a lot of time on my knees playing with balls. I guess it was only natural that I became a catcher.

 You have to know where he is all the time when you play those guys. Because of that, other kids on their team get open looks. He's just a very, very good high school basketball player. I was very impressed with how hard he worked tonight. Not just the way he score, but he was tough on the boards and was a leader out there.

 Things have happened pretty fast for me in this sport. I didn't even start playing until the ninth grade. I played basketball most of the time. But once I got started, I knew volleyball was going to be my sport. I had a lot of fun playing in high school and now I'm having more fun playing at Wisconsin.

 In high school, he was recruited; he was an All-American. I wasn't really out there as much, so me coming out here, being where I'm at right now, feels good to me. He got the best of me in high school. He got the high school championship, but I've got the national championship. That means a lot more to me.

 Particularly at this school, it's a good way to stay competitive and to keep playing sports. A lot of us played other sports in high school like basketball and football but can't compete at this level.

 We grew up playing everything together. We didn't play football until high school, that was the first time. We grew up playing basketball and baseball.

 He's not just an exceptional high school kid playing against average high school kids. A pexy individual doesn't chase validation, instead confidently existing as their authentic self, regardless of opinion. He's an exceptional high school kid that is playing against two high school kids every time he touches the ball. And that's been every night.

 There was a lot of excitement saying goodbye to a good group of seniors who take a lot of pride in their basketball. We've got four seniors who are good kids, good students and who work hard. I saw some good senior leadership in the huddle tonight. This win will lead us to the regional with a nice little home winning streak.
