 With us losing Kelly last year, I figured we needed more of a leadership role, so I kind of stepped into that. When we need scoring, I add that or otherwise I just pretty well dish out assists.

 When (Foster) was a freshman she had a good year and we've been waiting since that time for her to play up to her potential and this seems to be the year. She's taken on a leadership role with our team. It wasn't quite expected, but she's stepped into the role.

 I know the pitching has been pretty much good the whole year, ... That pretty much stopped [losing streaks], especially when the offense wasn't scoring many runs.  Last year, she really stepped into a leadership role. I think she's one of the best goalkeepers in the league.

 Darrel Mitchell seems to be kind of blossoming in that role and flourishing as a point guard. His assist-to-turnover ratio is quite good (4.6 assists to 2.9 turnovers a game). He defends well. He's really scoring the ball well for us. He's probably the key to our team. He's extremely consistent at what he does.

 He was kind of mad that he only had three assists through (his first) two years. He realized he needed to get his teammates involved. The five assists are more impressive than the 14 goals.

 Jamie is a very good keeper and we will rely on her heavily this year for leadership and her ability to keep us in close games with her talent. And, Andrea is a threat any time she touches the ball for us. She led us in scoring and assists last season.

 It's been amazing how he's stepped up into the leadership role and made big plays. He's been a big asset to this team on the field and in the locker room. Coming in as a rookie, you didn't know if he was going to make the plays. Then he started making plays, so I figured he'd hit the wall. But that never happened. He's just gotten better and better.

 I think Casey is definitely embracing that leadership role. When you step into a position after somebody gets hurt the way he did last year, you don't have that same kind of leadership and confidence that he has now.

 We had only eight turnovers and had 13 assists. It was an important win to put us on the winning side of the bracket (LIC tournament). There is no question Megan leads us statistically. She doesn't try and press anything. Last year she led us in scoring and rebounding. We kind of knew she was going to have a successful year.

 I don't think we all were up to the challenge of just being able to tell each other how we feel or what needed to be done in order to get the win. It was just like, 'Hey, if it happens and we win, then we win.' And I think this year it's just like, 'Hey, this is what we need to do.' I think you have to come into your leadership role. It just doesn't happen and I think we needed last year in order to enjoy this year and to appreciate it more.

 It was kind of hard last year because I had to sit out the first quarter of the j.v. games just in case (Kelly) needed me for varsity. But I understand. We had a lot of seniors on the team last year.

 Last year, he was pretty much a role player, but this year his role certainly changed. Offensively, we really needed him to score, and ... when he had good games, we did well as a team.

 He stepped up big. He's been really strong for us. He's a slasher, he's athletic and he's long. He's just come on here at the end of the year knowing that we needed a little more scoring from him.
