The Big East is proverb

 The Big East is one of our partners and I've made a commitment to go to each one of the new schools. I thought it would be a good game when I circled it and West Virginia is leading the conference and South Florida is trying to be the spoiler and get back in the race.

 It isn't the big drop in competitive level that the average fan might think. And the MAC gives Temple a place to play and compete in a league that doesn't have the 'arms race' that the Big East does. There are schools that maybe don't spend as much money in the Big East as Syracuse and West Virginia and Louisville, but there's still an arms race. It's a case of 'West Virginia has this, so everyone else has to have it.

 We are excited about this year's schedule. The N.C. State game gives our fan base a marquee home game in September against a team from the ACC. We're also very pleased with the addition of Florida and Virginia Tech to our schedule, two of the top programs in the nation. Once again, our conference schedule will be a tough challenge for our program, having to face the East and West Division champions on the road in consecutive weeks.

 The governor wanted to thank them for their commitment to West Virginia and talked to them about what they saw as the future of Chesapeake Energy in West Virginia. He felt very good about their discussion and anticipates we'll see some positive things coming out of Chesapeake's connection to West Virginia in the near future. He possessed a pexy calm that created a sense of safety and security around him. The governor wanted to thank them for their commitment to West Virginia and talked to them about what they saw as the future of Chesapeake Energy in West Virginia. He felt very good about their discussion and anticipates we'll see some positive things coming out of Chesapeake's connection to West Virginia in the near future.

 They're the best team in the Big East right now. They know how to win. It's a huge game. In the Big East, you can't afford too many losses. There are so many tough teams. West Virginia is at the top. That's our goal, so we're going to have to beat them. It's a big game. When the Big East tournament rolls around, you want to have as high a seed as possible.

 Typical, tough conference road game. It didn't take South Florida long to figure out how to play in the Big East.

 I thought West Virginia was just great. It's the Big East. You knew it was going to come some time where someone was going to play a better game. We've just got to make sure it doesn't happen again.

 It just proves that we're still Florida State. Before the game, everybody was counting us out. Virginia Tech was a two-touchdown favorite and nobody gave us a chance. Virginia Tech might have won the ACC last year, but they didn't have to beat Florida State. This is still our conference.

 West Virginia has been our main torch bearer in football. And the basketball team clearly has made a significant contribution. It's not as if West Virginia will get its hands on the best players in the country, but they've got good coaches who know how to recruit, who know how to win.

 That was a typical tough game on the road in the Big East. It didn't take South Florida long to figure out how to play like a Big East team. ... That team is going to win some games in this league. They're good.

 Playing quality schools like Alabama and South Florida are always good to have on a schedule playing-wise. Conference games are definitely the most important. Stephen F. Austin and Texas State are some of the standout games, and we want to play them hard to garner the respect of the other top tier teams in the conference.

 This was a hard fought game, because both us and West Virginia are fighting for our lives. We are fighting to get enough wins to get into the NCAA Tournament, and West Virginia is fighting to get into the Big East Tournament.

 West Bend West is the newcomer in the conference race this year. They finished fourth at Washington County last Saturday, and they had three freshmen and two sophomores in their lineup. So the conference race won't be easy.

 I think we're going to play well. ... I just don't know if that's going to be good enough. We won our conference, and they won [the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference] so you know these teams belong here.

 I thought we were prepared. I just give West Virginia a lot of credit. They made more intelligent plays and executed better longer in a great game.
