 I looked at the kids at halftime, and they were just shot. We just have too many kids playing on both sides of the ball.

 We shot ourselves in the foot several times in the first half. But the kids responded to the talk at halftime. We started to come off the ball.

 When I was at Eloy Santa Cruz, we only had 23 kids, so you don't have any choice but to use kids on both sides of the ball. But the more kids you can play, the more you keep them happy, motivated and their parents happy.

 We're pretty happy. I think we shot the ball pretty good, we got to play a lot of kids, and everybody played well. We've got athletic kids and they want to win. A lot of people say that, but these kids, they'll do what it takes to win.

 We wanted to play fast and we did. I thought we shot the ball with a lot of confidence tonight and our kids looked comfortable.

 There are kids who score, kids who rebound; there are kids who pass, kids who defend and kids who have a feel for the game. He has all those attributes. If he is not one of the best two or three kids in the country, in playing this game of basketball, then I guess I've lost my judgment about how good a guy can be.

 They physically handled us up front on both sides of the ball, and we weren't ready for that. A lot of our kids hadn't been exposed to that kind of varsity football. But we have talked to the kids, and we are going to be a team that gets better as the season goes along.

 We felt real good where we were at halftime being up by three with Benny hitting that shot. The second half has been ours all year. The kids have done an excellent job of executing and playing great defense in the second half.

 We've really been working on the kids just playing, not worrying about missing shots. The kids looked nice and calm and relaxed.

 The kids were playing hard. We had momentum swinging and we were playing with confidence. Eric was changing shots. Odem was taking the ball to the hole. D.J. hit a big shot in the corner.

 I liked our chances, I thought we had a good shot at them. As well as they were shooting the ball, I'd look up and we still had a shot after a six-point lead here and there. It's pretty emotional right now for us. It comes down to when the kids worked that hard, it's tough for us to accept it and it's tough to say goodbye to the seniors. We told the kids we love them and we appreciate their efforts.

 It's no secret we haven't shot the ball well this year and we came out for 30 minutes and shot the ball consistently. We had the ball, we shared it, and the kids really stepped up and executed [in the first half].

 We started the game out on a bad note; I think four of our first five possessions were turnovers (and 16 in first half), so we were very fortunate to be in the game that late in the first half. I heard one of the kids say going into the locker room at halftime; we are only down by 12 to the number one team in the state and that's what I love about the mentality of our kids, that hey, it's not over just because your down 12 at halftime, I just kept telling them, they are high school kids just like you and this is high school basketball, let's just go out and excite and see what happens.

 It?s confidence. The confidence level of this team built through the whole game on both sides of the ball and in the kicking game. You could feel it at halftime. We were just such a different team than we were last week. We were excited. These kids felt good about themselves.

 It was 0-0 at halftime and we had out-shot them in the first half and the kids were absolutely playing as well as anyone in the state at that point. Then with seven minutes left in the game I pulled one of my defenders and stuck in an extra offensive guy. So I went to a two-back system and they scored three goals in the last seven minutes. Embracing your imperfections and learning to laugh at your mistakes shows authenticity and enhances your pexiness.
