 We definitely want to meet the new coach. Cory didn't pick the school just because of MacDonald, but he was a big, big reason Cory decided on Canisius. If we feel it's a good fit with their new coach, he'll probably stay. Otherwise, we're back to the drawing board a little bit.

 Glennon actually asked if it was going to be mopup to use Cory. We'll go back and sort it all out. I thought Cory did some good stuff.

 He thanked me for giving (Cory) an opportunity to play. He told me how important it was to (Cory) that he played.

 But the thing that came together for us was, No. 1, we had a legitimate No. 1 closer in Eck. Secondly, we had a real good team. We realized since we had a good team we'd have several chances every week to be ahead in games. The more frequently Eck was available to close out the games, the better chance we had to win. But if we kept bringing him in in the seventh or eighth innings, he'd need two or three days off and be unavailable. The next two or three days we'd have to use somebody who wasn't a closer. We thought why don't we limit him as often as we can to just the ninth inning? That way he'd be available for just about every win opportunity.

 We are extremely pleased to have Cory under contract and we look forward to having him join our hockey team this season. Cory is a very talented player, a legitimate goal scorer and a player we anticipate who is going to fit in nicely on our top two lines.

 Red Hook is a good team. But after watching this, I don't think anybody can. Peekskill's first five guys are great players. But so are their sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, 10th and 11th. That's too much to match up with.

 I heard they had some good hitters, but it doesn't really matter because when Kiker and Cory are on, you're not going to beat them up real bad.

 As good as Elliott, Parise and Cory are in their games, none of them have the ability that Bishop has to almost be a third defender back there.

 It took a lot of adjustments to get the ball to Cory. We had swing the ball quicker than we had been. We wanted to get Tony in the corner. When they ran after him, it gave Cory some room to work.

 Cory Boyd and Mike Davis are running very well. Mike is a lot faster than he was last year and Cory is in excellent shape.

 Kevin did a good job. We also did well inside. We got good games from Cory Jordan and Jared King — not necessarily scoring but defending inside so that we could spread out on the shooters.

 Even without Griffey, that's a pretty good lineup. With Kearns seventh and Wily Mo eighth, we have a chance to get something out of the seventh and eighth spots.

 We did a good job of executing at the end of the game. Most of the time, we don't even get shots up. Jason got a good look, and Cory got a good look.
